Keep Your Xbox 360 Cool as a Cucumber

Ó

Some clever soul has figured out a way to keep his Xbox 360 from overheating, even in an unventilated area. Essentially he's used the Antec Notebook Cooler. The cooler is designed for notebook computers, but appears to work a treat when placed under an Xbox 360, it's also USB powered so just plugs directly into the Xbox 360 USB port. The clever chap who thought of this says it fits the 360 almost perfectly and only raises it by about an inch and for the fashion conscious, it's also white in color so matches the Xbox 360.

Even in an unventilated shelf the 360 allegedly stayed cool enough to halt any lock up problems caused by overheating.  Sometimes it just takes one smart person to notice the obvious, as is the case here. So if you're experiencing overheating problems and you're stuck for space, a notebook cooling  pad may just do the trick and even match the 360's design. Sweet.

thats the exact cooler i have under my laptop, the things silent on the lowest setting, and very quiet on its high setting, still id never use one on my 360 for 2 reasons, 1, its verticle, 2, it dont overheat...

if your machine overheats, gets flashing red lights and/or graphical glitches in games, its broken, send it back to MS n get it repaired or a new one.

my room is always very warm and my power brick is down the back of a unit, yet its always barely warm to the touch after 8 hour Oblivion marathons... machine pumps out warm air but nothing dangerously hot, side of machine is warm too, but works fine so...

It is a good idea, I brought one of these (not that model) when I got my 360 at launch. However I don't use it as much anymore as it's never overheated and at night the extra noise can get a little annoying.

if you're experiencing overheating problems in the first place you have a broken 360, return it for a working unit or feel free to spend more money on something that should'nt be needed.

Antec is a very good company. Been using there PC line of products for many years. Cases, Power Supplies, etc. Never 1 problem or complaint about them. They make quality products so hts off to the guy who thought about using that as a Xbox 360 coolter. Doing so may even trigger Antec or other companies to clone the same idea.
