James Cameron: Ubisoft's Avatar on Xbox 360 to come in 3D - Image 1About a year ago, we reported that Ubisoft managed to gain the rights to develop a video game adaptation of James Cameron's upcoming movie, Avatar. Not much info has come out since then, which brings us to today's news snippet.

Speaking at Microsoft's Advance 08 advertising conference, Cameron stated that Ubisoft is running the Avatar game's Xbox 360 version in 3D (yes - complete with those special glasses). Cameron's film, currently being recorded using a Pace Fusion 3D digital camera, will debut in theaters next year.

Cameron said that aside from movies or games, even laptops, phones, and Zune players could benefit from making to move into 3D displays. "Stereo production is the next big thing," he said. "We are born seeing in three dimensions. Most animals have two eyes and not one. There is a reason I think."

That's just about all the details Cameron shared regarding the Avatar game, at least for the moment. Those interested in reading the rest of his speech at Microsoft's event will want click on the source link below. In the meantime, stick around in case Ubisoft steps up with more details regarding this matter.

» Is this really possible?

The recent movies that were 3D in the theatres have not been in 3D when they come out on DVD. I thought you had to have a specialized projector to display the images on screen. When I was a kid they tried doing some t.v. shows in 3D but it didnt really work right. If they can really do this I will be amazed.
