Is Dead Rising Out For Your Xbox's Brains Again? |

Well, here's something familiar that we've been hearing about since the
game's launch. Until now, more people are relating their experiences
with Dead Rising which range from freezing up or not starting at all.
Though many also state that the game runs on their systems just fine
and that perhaps problematic games may just need more ventilation for
the consoles, the number of people who have not been so fortunate is
getting a little hard to ignore.Various members of message boards such as the ones in Capcom.com, Ars Technica and IGN have related their experiences of getting a disc read error message though though they had a pristine copy of the game. Some have even told stories of pausing Dead Rising to get up for a while, and then coming back to find the disc error message on their screens. Some have said that what solved the problem was removing the hard drive, thus hinting that the ultimate solution for everyone else experiencing this problem may be a patch for the game itself.
One member also says that he called Microsoft support and was told that there are "multiple known issues with Dead Rising and that MS is working with Capcom on a fix." With so many people testifying that there are various issues about this game that needs to be fixed, as well as the acknowledgement that has been received from MS support that there is indeed a problem with the title, what does this spell for the future of this game?

Now Saints Row is also freezing my xbox.
I believe that my launch 360 does not have the capibility to play these new games because they are too proc demanding and heat the box up too much.
I called Microsoft and they said the unit was in need of a $139 "repair". This is an outrage...! There is nothing broken about my xbox 360, it simply can't play the new games because the hardware was faulty from day 1.
Please please, raise a stir about this who else is having these problems? I believe it is false advertizing and fraudulent for Microsoft to sell a 360 that can't play 360 games..... I should not have to pay for a repair, they lied to me about what the machine could do. I am guessing in later revisions of the 360 it can handle more power, more heat etc.
Its such a scam! Please what can I do, I don't want to pay the $139 "repair" fee. I KNOW they are going to replace the whole box... Its just not fair that my 360 can NOT play the games it was advertized to play. There must be some legal egde in this way of looking at it.
Think about it... $450 for a premium console, $50 for another controller, $40 for 2x play and charge packs, $100 for wireless adapter, $60 for xbox live, $200 for HD DVD add on, and now $140 for a "repair" so it can play the finally decent games that come out, and an additional $60 for an extended 2yr warranty to make sure the box doesn't die again soon..... My god thats $1200! AND I already spent $500 in games and accessories too.
Why the heck should I have to pay $140 for this FAKE repair and them to give me a box that actually plays the new (and proc demanding) 360 games?

So you can either spend $100 for the two-year extended warranty, or you can wait 'till it breaks and spend $140 for a one-time repair. Where the fu*k is the logic in that?

the 360 so far is not looking so good the controllers d-pad sucks and the system freezies sometime. i have seen ring of death on lost planet demo, rebooted works fine, froze twice on the test drive demo, and dont get me started on doa that happends all the time online. i never had a big heat issues its just the system has been out for almost a year and the problems are still there.
just think about this when games start pushing the system
this could be bad microsoft they need to improve, and soft ware companys need to test their products and stop with the patching this is a console for a reason to bi-past the paching bs and issues of the pc.
this the first console where i heard a system replaced four times by a person.my friend and his brothers broke, they had to replaced it, and every other games need to be patched.

How is it going to overheat more then any other game, are they overclocking it ? No, sure maybe there are more times when the cpu is going full load, but I guess there are in obvlivion as well....
Anyways if DR or SR or anygame is making your console screw up, the it was the will of the video game gods and you are unlucky....it's pathetic how bad people are looking for reasons to down on the 360.....
Oh and before you say "why have so many people said something". It's because we live in a day and age where every little peckerhead can get on the internet and voice his complaints, so you hear more about errors and such, then count for 25-50% of the stories to also be fabricated...

I slapped a USB powered fan onto the back of the 360 to suck more hot air out, and I think it may have helped.... I could play Saints Row for a whlie.
MS has made me so mad and they handled it horribly. I am going to mod my dvd firmware and add a few fans inside to stick it to the man. This is what they get when they treat me poorly.
M$ you suck!

I feel for the people with freezing consoles. Buts seriously #2, send it in for repar or STFU. Legal action, What are you 12? Microsoft lied becasue yours is less powerful or over heats???? You cant be serious with this argument. The specs are the same on every console. Your argument may look sound (Or less completely moronic) if you actually thought about possible manufacturing errors.
