Introducing Spell Tomes for Oblivion |
Ó
Mages and other people who like casting weird fireworks thingies will love this upcoming little addition to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the XBox 360.
You will be able to find and acquire spell tomes through regular monster smashing with the new "Spell Tomes" pack. The pack will add different sort of magical texts into the random loot system, allowing you to forego purchasing spells (even the most basic ones) and saving that little bit of extra cash at the start.
The fun thing about this? More blasting! Super fireballs (that have water and lightning and stuff)! Super Strength (with a decrease in brain power)! It also gives you an incentive to explore, which is the main reason why the game's open-ended to begin with.
The pack will also introduce new spells into the game, including spells with multiple effects and double-edged spells that are powerful and cost less than regular magicka, but have some small negative effects to balance it out.
Some of the spells that will be included with the Spell Tomes pack include:
Blink: A low-level invisibility spell to get you out of trouble.
Baltham's Insight: A short duration but long range detect life spell.
Shield Wall: Fortify Heavy Armor and Shield effect.
Night Form: Powerful Invisibility and Fortify Sneak, and take Sun damage, which reduces Magicka cost to cast.
Pride of Hirstaang: Fortify Strength, Resist Frost, and Summon a Bear.
OrumÂ’s Aquatic Escape: Invisibility, Night-Eye, and Water-breathing.
Elemental Blast: A powerful offensive spell with: Fire damage, Frost damage, and Shock damage.
Magicka Vortex: Absorb Magicka, Weakness to Magic 25% and Stunted Magicka. The Spell Tomes plug-in pack can be purchased for 99 cents (NICE!) when it's released, and XBox 360 users can purchase and download it only from the XBox Marketplace. YAY!

I'm sure you can make some of these on that magic alter thingie.
Maybe....but the spell creation and enchanting is really REALLY limited...everything is super expensive and you can't have multiple effects on one spell/enchant.
Not sure if anyone in the original morrowwind found that dude that fell from the sky and you get like 2 scrolls of his experimental jump spell that did something stupid like add +500 agility and made you jump like a mile in the air, then die on landing.....I hope that is in here, that was fun
I remember that!
That was so funny, because I had my speakers on very loud, and was wondering what the heck was shouting, till I saw something drop right in front of my character.
Needless to say, I swore too.
it will have to be repurchase if you want those tomes again.
much like mmorpg cash shop item which prevent lose of exp when die and higher pecentage of crafting success and so on.
