Another map from the 12 names taken from the beta code has been confirmed: the multiplayer map Construct. GameSpot folks give us the scoop as they interview Tyson Green, multiplayer design lead for Halo 3 who also gave us the info on the multiplayer map Isolation.

Construct has an industrial-type theme to it - all grays and silver. It's divided into the upper and lower levels to house the opposing teams and both have their own unique strengths and weaknesses, as the developers strive for balance with each map. The upper levels in the map are more advantageous in terms of location while the lower levels have the better weapons.

The upper levels of the map are easier to defend. Green described it this way:

There's a lot of room to move and choose your engagements there, and it takes a coordinated offense to root you out (which make for the best clashes, win or lose). It's also pretty exciting when a fusion coil pops out of the lift with a grenade right after it. It makes you move in a real hurry.

The lower levels, on the other hand, contain the better choice in weapons, each with its own strengths in charging the upper levels:

[In the lower levels] you can nab a Spartan Laser for picking off people on the upper levels, and a selection of Brute Shots and Maulers for bum-rushing the lifts. On the upper level, there's a sniper rifle for watching the approaches, and a sword sits out where you have to put yourself in a potentially compromising situation to pick it up.

Because of the difficulties in getting from one level to another using lifts, the use of Banshees have been constricted and developers focused on giving a higher emphasis on infantry combat and zone control. Stay tuned for more Halo 3 updates from Bungie Studios before the game is finally released on September 25.

first to tell you the truth

all they have is the xbot. It's not even that good of a system, that was actually an overstatement.....It is almost guarantee defective a day, week, or month down the line. I am so tire of xbots always always begging others to buy an xbot telling them to put faith in M$, MY ASS. next thing you know everyone elses xbots are a brick. That's what you xbots deserve for not doing your homework and blinding putting faith in a company that just copies from others (vista) and tried to force every company in competition with it out of business...I seems more like a mafia corporation if you ask me. Faith and respect and royalities are earned. not force to others. sony has earn every one of it from me....but for you xbots fanboys you just go beggin others to buy a xbot knowing full well in the back of your head that it will break. I know you are always uncertain about if and when your xbot will break. Even with the sorry wanna be elite so bad the named it elite. Its like a person wanna be god and calls himself god and forces everyone to worship him as a god. WTF M$. would anyone in here buy 1/3 of a car only with one wheel missing. Would you buy morning coffee with a hole in the cup leaking boiling hot on your skin. would you take a pill to cure what ever condition you have or just wanna be beautiful and be told 66% of people have died from this. AS far as I am concern. M$ doesn't even have a system in my book of common sense. Its not even a whole system. Oh yeah to stress my point will you shoot your self with a gun or shot gun if they said your medical bills will be cover.

funny

Thanks man, you made my day. I found that pretty funny. I have a 360 AND a PS3, and I really wouldn't say I put "faith" in a console, that's a bit weird. Yeah.. keep doing your thing, man. You're so smart :)
