History Channel: Civil War Info and Screens |
Ó
Now here's a game that'll let you use the "This is for my history homework!" excuse on your parents, Cauldron's History Channel: Civil War. Relive the carnage and chaos of the Civil War in this first-person action game where you get to play as a Confederate or Union soldier in AmericaÂ’s historic battles including Gettysburg, Bull Run and Antietam.
In addition to being able to relive historic battles in locations such as Little Round Top and Lookout Mountain, the game also features hand-to-hand fighting where you can use bayonets, sabers, the butt of your gun, and even your fists when in close contact with the enemy. Complete mission objectives by placing explosives, sabotaging enemy telegraph lines, and should you need the help of your comrades, you can also employ the line fighting strategy.
The game's cinematic war experience makes your battles come to life with exploding artillery, whistling bullets, and more. The wide variety in weaponry also allows you to express your creativity in battle strategies and fighting, as you can choose between different types of grenades, guns, revolvers, bayonets, muskets, sabers, etc. Battlefield environments are also based on topographical maps and images from the actual battlegrounds of the Civil War. And because of the game's historical accuracy, there's no way your mom or dad won't believe you when you say that you're working on a history paper on the Civil War.
Basically, History Channel: Civil War seems to be the game that lives up to the "History Made Fun" slogan, with its historical accuracy and information being merged into gameplay. So whether you want to join the army or you're really just into wars and battlefield strategies, you might want to pick up this game when it hits the shelves on November 14. Rated T by the ESRB, the Cauldron-developed game will also come out on PS2, with the Xbox360 version selling for $49.99. Below are more x360 screenshots for you to get a glimpse of the upcoming game.
