Here's hoping: Gears of War 2 to be announced at GDC? |

Gamers have been clamoring for a sequel to Gears of War (360, PC) as soon as they finished the game, with their consoles still warm from hours of playing. Will we finally hear the announcement of the game's development? TeamXbox speculates that we just might.
Looking at the floor plan of the 2008 Game Developer Conference, the largest floor spaces have been reserved for Epic Games and Microsoft. Of course that's not enough for speculations to start. Both are major studios so it's not surprising that they have big floor spaces.
The sliver of hope that these two will announce Gears of War 2 comes from the two big floor spaces being placed side by side with each other. Furthermore, the two studios have no prior connection other than the Gears of War project.
This is all only speculation of course so we shouldn't get our hopes up just yet, but we can always keep our fingers crossed.

but I'm doubtfull because I thought the GDC was more about the developing tools than announcing titles. Hope that's wrong though and they give us a Demo (really really wishful thinking)
This is one of things I want microsoft to talk about... GOF bis just the best game in the 360... just hate that everyone talk about how wonderful is halo 3 when the real best game in the 360 comes since the beggining
I dont really consider the end of 2006 to be the beginning of the Xbox 360... Perfect Dark Zero is more so the beginning, not Gears of War.
My guess is possibly Unreal Engine 4, Gears of War & UT3 for Mac, and UT3 for 360. I'm not sure if Gears of War 2 is ready for unveiling just yet. I mean, the first Gears only came out a year and 2 months ago.
Hm, true but they may announce it is being developed, in reality this is both good for Microsoft and Epic, as Epic would probably use Gears 2 to show off the most current version of it's Unreal Engine for the development conference.
