With the Halo 3 beta officially over and the world now waiting on pins and needles for the highly-anticipated title to come out, here's an opportunity to get in touch with the legend that is Master Chief himself before any other Halo fan could - and that's by ownership of the Spartan Helmet that's currently up for grabs on eBay.

For a mere pittance of US$ 250, one can actually examine and touch a meticulously-detailed, if a bit downsized, realization of Master Chief's helmet. Purchased directly from a Microsoft employee, this gem is as brand-new and exclusive as it gets.

Too bad you can't wear it for the full Master Chief experience, but hey - it makes for a great centerpiece, and it's an interesting conversational item that would drive any Halo fan in the vicinity green with envy. At least, until the game gets released in its Legendary Edition, of course.

You can check out the actual eBay page of the Master Chief Helmet by clicking on the read link below. Good bidding!

That is pretty sad that someone would pay the current bid of $265. I mean, I know rich people are usually stupid and just love to throw money away, but damn, that is fu*king overkill. Just wait till Sep 25 and get the game and helmet for $130. Having some plastic helmet early isn't going to make you cool.

And it's still got three days left...

It's up to $605 now. No way is anybody that desperate, they must be raising the price just for laughs.
