Pop the bubble, and documentaries come out!

Actually, yeah. We probably should say a little bit more about the upcoming Halo 3 video documentary happening later.

"OMG! Later?!" you say? Yep. The first English version of the Halo 3 documentary will hit Xbox Live on December 20, at 2 a.m PST. It's confirmed that it will be talking about the Brutes, the new enemies in the game, and will talk about the design philosophy behind this installment of the Halo franchise.

Before you all salivate and convulse in epileptic joy, just remember some things that Frank O'Connor posted on Bungie's news page:

  • There are no finished graphics in the documentary, and everything you see is a work in progress.
  • This will be available initially only on Xbox Live Marketplace.
  • The rest of the localized language versions will be parceled out afterwards, hopefully within 24 hours. Please be patient.
  • We will make another, non-marketplace version available relatively soon.
  • It runs for seven minutes.
  • Standard definition and high definition variants will be available.
Still, that's seven minutes of Halo 3 goodness, and you can't discount that. Someone better grab some caffeine soon, because it's going to be a very tense couple of hours till that video comes out. We'll make sure to put it on the site as soon as some enterprising fellow rips it from the television and posts it on YouTube. Till then, be patient, and watch the lovely trailer in the meantime.

Brutes aren't new enemies in Halo.

Brutes are not new, I agree. They have been rumored to be playable but bungie said in the weekly update that is simply not true.
