Halo 3 street date broken... in Norway |
Ó
If you post a picture of yourself on the internet holding something that isn't supposed to be out for another two weeks, you can expect someone to be angry at you... if not the people making the game, then all the other people who desperately want to play the game you managed to snag. This is the story of one of those games: Bungie Studios' Halo 3.
Apparently, a Norwegian game retailer known as Expert broke the street date for Halo 3, selling at least two copies to the public. In addition, a picture has surfaced showing off one such lucky gamer who managed to snag himself a copy of the game, with the thing seemingly already playing in the background.
There are two things of import to us with regard to the picture above. First off, that is one swell TV to be playing Halo 3 on, and we wish we had one. Second, as much as we wouldn't mind hearing about another busted gamer, we hope that these early adopters of Master Chief's adventures are smart enough to remember to keep their consoles away from Xbox Live. While a Norwegian SWAT team seems out of the question for the sake of the game, getting caught with an early copy of Halo 3 could result in yet another massive banhammer.

They can't ban him, it's a retail version and he had no agreement with them not to play it if he could. They could go against the retailer but not the gamer, all he did was buy what he wanted to. The reason the other guys were banned is because the played a version of the game that was stolen from a Bungie employee
That's true. I concede the point there... though I wonder if he'll have much fun playing the game by himself. Halo is definitely meant for more than single player.
guy is still lucky one of the first ppl to play halo b4 MILLIONS of ppl
he can be the first to get 1000 gamerscore :)
if retailers have the game why not sell it
i think they can ban hammer him for play the game to early the only game of halo 3 to be played on the net is halo 3 beta. thats my opinion.
but i will have to wait to play halo 3 till the 1st of the month to play halo 3 but the 25th when i get my halo 3 legendary
Damn! I guess I'll look for it tomorrow. ;)
Its simple Its the same thing with the Bioshock incident They make a release to make sure no gets it early and everyone gets there copy first. its how business work. If anything its the retailer or whoever sold the two copies fault. He shouldn't get a ban for buying it from some idiot employee who sold it early. If anything that person should get fired.
Lucky, yes he is but its not his fault, like his HD TV though, wish i had one in my room.
interesting point Victor, though you can play story mode and get that out of the way.
