Halo 3 leaked on torrent sites by hackers Microsoft had earlier mentioned that it will do everything in its power to prevent further early sales of Bungie Studios' behemoth FPS title Halo 3. However, it seems that it's going to be an uphill battle for both Microsoft and Bungie as we just got word that several sources have already leaked the game in torrent sites.

Furthermore, reports said that the source of this leak is the well known group of hackers called Paradogs. The Halo 3 NFO file currently circulating in torrent sites is said to be 72x100MB in size and the video mode is PAL.

Quite interestingly, the reported leaks from the previous day came from markets in the said region. The group Paradogs also said on different Internet sites that it got its original copy from the publisher "Mickey Mouse".

Anyway, we also received confirmations that another copy of Halo 3 can be found around the Internet which was patched to avoid detection from Microsoft.

...

Not sure why people would want to run the risk of getting banned when the Live aspect of this game is 60% of the experience.

I think I just threw up a little

I can't believe this cr ap. There is not one single way in creation this is a good or acceptable thing. "I'm too poor, I wouldn't buy it anyway". Then DON'T buy it, or cut back on the damn crack and save some money that way. "I have a right to". I hear this so often from friends and I just want to punch them in the face. You have NO right to it! They have a right to compensation for their effort, whether you'd have bought it not. "I'm just one person". One person * a few thousand equals a lot of dollars NOT making it back into the industry. I'm a calm level headed guy, but this is sick, and this is theft. Go on, someone argue that, I'm rearing for a good fight. And yes, I do realise this happens in a million ways with a million games.

Paradox and Torrent .. LOL The only correct thing: it has been leaked.
by - 2007-09-20 06:08:50
well..

according to our sources, it's paradogs. and we look around the Internet, and most sites which reported on this also got the name paradogs. anyway, the point is it has been leaked and microsoft will be upset. let's see ms' next move..

by Mega Phoenix - 2007-09-20 07:49:07
Ummm....

Isn't this letting people know they can go download the game if they have a modded 360? seems more like you want people to know they can go download it...or you just haveno other news to post >_>
by C0ns0Lo - 2007-09-20 08:06:20
OMG

What do u want to say? I wanted to say: PDX doesn't put stuff on P2P! Read between the lines my friend.

by Shatterdome - 2007-09-20 10:02:17
So...

How did they afford the xbox360...the monthly highspeed interenet fee, and have a computer with a dual-layer burner ?
by Shatterdome - 2007-09-20 18:23:03
hehe...

probably abit of both :P I'm also wondering how someone who makes an image and uploads it to a website becomes a "hacker"....
by Kingofdaberbz - 2007-09-20 18:48:49
wow

ya hacking consoles n getting the games 4 free n b4 there out is a big thing to them i guess but watch out 4 the ban hammers if these ppl wanna do that i don't care but i hope they dont get mad when they get banned
by Master Chef - 2007-09-20 22:40:33
Exactly

If they can afford an Internet connection that can download 7 GB in under a year and an Xbox 360, they can afford the game. rallyf1, you have no argument at all, never mind a poor one.
by shabghai360 - 2007-09-20 23:22:25
its a grey area

Most comments are sensible and all comments can be argued. There will always be people that want it now and want it for free. Does this make the game more expensive? Some say yes but I say no. All games have a Max selling price and all companies go for that at the initial release to recuperate incredibly high production costs. All games a few months later are on sale and most a year later are re-released at a budget price. In the past I would also download for the PC more to see if I liked it as not all offer a playable demo. Games I really liked I would buy as I want the original as a copy is and will always be a copy. I have an ipod 80 gig but I still buy CD's cause I want the original, I pay for the touch and feel and enjoy to read lyrics and liner notes while listening. I simply accept that the internet is here and if you want something it can always be found with that said if its something I really want the internet will not replace the original. MS have really improved the situation with easy access to demo downloads. There is nothing better than try before you buy. Game websites do produce a very varied response in ratings and often what is a 9 I feel will be good but am often dissapointed. On the other hand a game like Snowblind received bad ratings but I found it to be one of the games I played the most? That QJ mention that Halo as a torrent is on the net is in some ways bad as this offers temptation but on the other hand QJ promotes itself as a portal to latest news so I must defend their decision to place the article. Its really down to the individual, I want the original so I will wait but thats a personal choice.
by Kingofdaberbz - 2007-09-21 04:47:24
don't care really

there will always b hackers n buyers i buy but some ppl hack but there are still consequences 4 their actions the ban hammer but i just hope these ppl condemin these hackers don't illegally download other forms of media like music movies n shows cuz downloading those aren't okay either. p.s. how did u ppl know the size of the game?
by rollypoly - 2007-09-21 14:58:38
not always

why do people have the idea that if you can afford one thing you can afford another? people afford what they want, it's all a choice in the end. and try to keep in mind ALOT of people live in debt... they buy things they really can't afford.
by daveymontgomery - 2007-09-24 06:50:41
purrrlease

i pay for my internet connection therefore im entitled to download everything without having to pay for it, plus living in the uk its quicker to dl tv shows than wait years for them to make it over here
