Well Spartans, the fight isn't over just yet.. In December, three all-new Halo 3 multiplayer maps will be made available as part of the Heroic Map Pack, the first in a series of downloadable Halo 3 content from Bungie Studios.

The Heroic Map Pack, which will be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace on December 11 for 800 Microsoft Points, will include the following maps:
  • Standoff - ideal for mid-sized objective and Slayer game types with its entrenched bases and fields of boulders
  • RatÂ’s Nest - an indoor vehicle paradise, strongly influenced by the Campaign mode, ideal for big team battles
  • Foundry - the ultimate Forge map: every single object in this industrial warehouse can be edited
All of the maps in the Heroic Map Pack will also become available for free download come Spring 2008.

In other Xbox Live news, this week marks the arrival of Undertow, the 101st game for the Xbox Live Arcade. This aquatic-based shooter will let players battle for control of the oceans as one of three selectable races, each with four unique, upgradeable units. Aside from the single-player mode, Undertow also supports on and offline co-op as well as online multiplayer for up to 16 players. Undertow hits Wednesday for 800 Microsoft Points.
