Halo 3: First week sales now total US$ 300 million |

No wonder Master Chief loves wearing green on his Mjolnir armor - it's the color of money. Microsoft has just sent out word that since Halo 3's launch last September 25, the game has already accumulated a total of US$ 300 million in its first week alone. As you can guess, MS boss Bill Gates was very happy with the earnings, and had this to say in light of this report:
Halo is truly a cultural phenomenon, and the launch of Halo 3 is an important milestone for Xbox 360 and for video games as entertainment and as an art form. Halo 3 embodies our vision for the future of entertainment, where some of the worldÂ’s greatest creative minds will deliver a new generation of interactive storytelling.
We imagine that this news bit shouldn't come as big a surprise for the guys who've already picked up their game copy. As was previously reported, the game picked up more than half of the US$ 300 million profits within its first day in retail. But while Bungie Studio's Halo 3 did grab attention on the Xbox Live scene, there were reports of problems with some of the distributed discs. Ailments ranged from scratched Limited Edition discs, to reports of games not running at all.

$300 million in one week is impressive but Lord of the rings sold Alot more. But for a game to sell that much truly impressive.
