Halo 3 Cinema Paradiso: the magic of Saved Films

One of the coolest things Halo 3 offers is the Saved Films function which records everything during your game - be it Campaign, Multiplayer or Forge - and allows you to see it, review it from different angles and even watch it like a movie, and you can do this over and over again.

The Saved Films function records your movements and actions as game data instead of a video. Aside from the advantage of this taking up infinitely less space on your hard drive, it allows you to be able to review your game in a variety of ways. Aside from this you can share your Saved Films with your friends for boasting privileges or just to show a really wicked move you pulled off. You'll be able to see most of its capabilities in the developer video below.

Some examples of the functions of Saved Films allow you to explore the entire game in third person view, following a specific character, or go into free view where you can explore the entire map independently. You can do this while the game is on pause or while it's running. You can even play it on slow motion or at high speed. Enough talk, see how cool it is for yourselves:

can't wait for halo 4 to come out for xbox 9000. it's gonna be great.

(Start another fight.)

and i also can't wait for halo 5: Master Chief and Friends Superstar Adventure In Dreamland to come out. Halo 6 (Just keep fighting.), Halo 7 (Fighting. Do it.), and Halo 8 (You know what to do.) will all be awesome games... and in 2034 they will start building an ACTUAL HALO.

Shortly after my decision to leave the QJ forums QJ made changes for the better.

All comments by registered users,(100%) and the removal of extreme content.

This encourages a better dialogue as after all we are gamers getting news and discussing what we think.

As for extensions of Halo beyond the "finish the fight" there could be argument to create some kind of epilogue. We (I) do not know the end of Halo 3 just yet but if our hero Spartan should pass on is there not room for some kind of interesting symbiosis of the Chief and Cortana as a single unity?
