Halo 3 - Image 1

XboxPortugal, the same gamer who brought us the first Halo 3 Beta screenshots, has just posted some interesting information regarding the beta and its schedule. According to him the beta will be delievered in two sessions/seasons which would be separated from each other. However this information right now is fresh off of the rumor mill and no development has been made to confirm or deny this. Bungie has already stated that they are unsure when they beta would become available in a recent weekly update article of theirs; however, if you believe in this, engulf yourslef in these juicy (or not-so-juicy) details -
  1. The first session will be available to only those who recieived the acceptance emails from Bungie and will start on March 21st
  2. The second session will be available to those who have purchased Crackdown for the Xbox 360 and access the beta in-game and will end in June (no start date given)

» Chances are...

They will allow the people who won, and got codes, to download the beta first....then maybe a week later, open the floodgates to the crackdown people, which will lock servers, cause errors and we will have to wait a day for the download to complete....maybe more..

» IF..

If Microsoft did that, they would never be able to package anything with a game again. Its just not in good taste. Thats sticking it to people who paid for the spot in the beta.

Lets face it, its pretty obvious that alot of people bought crackdown just for the beta. If Microsoft sticks it to these people their will be a huge backlash.

I say this is all rumor. Go look at anything released by Microsoft or Bungie about the beta. Its not worded the same. Not an official anything.

» alla

it wouldnt create a backlash. If you wanted the beta so badly you would have gone the Bungie way instead of buying Crackdown. The loyalist of fans will get to play the beta first, and the people who just bought a game to play the beta will have to wait. I see nothing wrong with this...

And if youre wondering, I have Crackdown and thats the only way I will be able to get into the beta. But I didnt buy Crackdown for the beta anyways, I bought it for the game.

» "loyalists"?

All those ways to get into the beta besides buying Crackdown were just lotteries, I know people who tried to get into the beta by doing the whole play Halo 2 for three hours thing, they singed up right after playing for three hours but people who registered way later were chosen over them. First 13,333 my ass, there is nothing loyalist about this.

I know Bungie is letting major Halo community members play first, and I understand that completely (some of them waste their whole lives devoting stuff to the community that nobody will remember in five years, they should get something back), but letting people who won a lottery play first over people who payed $60 for Crackdown isn't fair.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha sorry did i say ha ha

» yea no kidding

I guess you could call me a "loyalist" and believe me, I TREID to go the "Bungie way" but as already mentioned, those were just lotteries and I wasn't lucky enough to get picked. Yes, I bought Crackdown for the beta so this definitely doesnt make me happy. I agree with Spine. I wouldn't be buying any games with pack-ins anymore know M$ already pulled this crap once.

» RE:

Well, u think that you can pay your way into the halo 3 beta? i think not..the halo 3 rule of 3 was not a lottery. If you were a loyal fan of halo2/ wanted in the halo3 beta you would have been refreshing the halo3.com site and ended up being the first 13,333. That is what I did. It is COMPLETELY fair for whoever used the rule of 3 to play first. Accept it.

by Shatterdome - 2007-02-28 22:33
» Yeah..

I see no problem letting people who won play first, as long as I don't have to wait an extra 3 months or something...I just couldn't handle it.

I don't think it would be a problem anyways, as oyu shouldn't have bought a game just for a demo...

by M-Lin - 2007-03-01 01:10
» right on

Spine is right - I will go *****ing ape ***** if I can't play the beta after buying that piece of ***** game.

lala is a confused *****

by M-Lin - 2007-03-01 01:13
» No

I didnt buy a game for a demo - I just bought a demo - crackdown is a nothing game

by Frank - 2007-03-01 02:14
» The halo 3 rule of 3 was *****ed up

Wtf you talking about loyalists?

The halo 3 rule of the 3 was *****ing crap unfair. ALL 3 WAYS WERE FOR AMERICANS ONLY!!!!!

So me as a european could only get in the beta with buying crackdown, as I did. So it will be *****ed up for non-americans if this is true

by C.in-fvr3 - 2007-03-01 02:19
» The halo 3 rule of 3 was *****ed up (edit)

I mean ofc 2 of the 3 ways were for americans only, else I couldnt get in at all

» Halo 3 multiplayer beta

Well actually you guys bought halo 3 multiplayer beta for 60$ or 40 pounds and it came with a free game inside the box called crackdown??

Well actually Crackdown is ***** and they wanted to boost the sales of Crackdown and they asked M.Bungie:"Can you help us...please?"

by Spine - 2007-03-01 11:36
» Told ya

See my above post and all the non-belivers who follow.

Per Frankie:

There is only one Halo 3 Public Beta. Folks who play it because they bought Crackdown are playing the same game as the ones who won the Rule of Three contest.

Told ya. Bamb!
