Crackdown - Image 1After months of waiting for it, the Halo 3 beta keys Crackdown is finally available on retail shelves today. Although a couple of days earlier, some fans were able to get early copies of the game, by now, it's fair play for everyone. You know what that means. With Crackdown out, you can now get a chance to (if you haven't yet) receive an invite to the Halo 3 beta testing.

The time has come for the day of reckoning. The never-ending debate of why Crackdown would be a hit will finally be answered. Will it sell because it really is a good game? Or maybe because it's got the Halo 3 beta invites bundled with it?

Well, whatever your reasons are for purchasing the game, do know that it's out today in retail stores (selling at US$ 60). We're sure to give you an update on how sales figures do for this game; so, watch this space!

» Honestly....

Why bother with buying Crackdown for the Halo 3 beta? I mean, Crackdown is an awesome awesome game, I bet you'll be dissappointed if you got it just for the beta.

I've been playing the campaignnnn so much.

Plus I love the features how people can join your game at any time during you are playing Solo campaign.

» Game is GREAT

Its not gonna be my favorite game but I would be lying if I said it wasnt fun. DAMN fun. I have not played it bymyself yet though. Me and a buddy from work are co-oping it over live. Its such a great experience. Def one of the best co op experiences IMO to date. Theres just something awesome about being able to go off in this huge world and do two COMPLETLY seperate things from each other. But why play co op if your gonna play like that? Because the choice is there. We go off searching for orbs until we get some intel on the next crime boss and than we team up to kill them swiftly.

i agree!

i have said through and through that people buying it just for the beta are morons and i've just got flamed by everyone.

everyone has said "no one is buying it for the beta" but everyone is complaining about crackdown's success and saying that they would return it.. err.

I played this for a few hours last night, and so far I have enjoyed myself. It's a good game. IGN gave it an 8.0 and at this point I would probably agree with that. It's a good bet I will be spending my weekend playing it a lot more.

» Yup...

Awesome ass game forsure....

I'm kinda wishing you could have like 4 people join your game and it just upped the amount of villains you fought.

I also thought they would have a Saints Row type of multiplayer, kinda dissapointed there is no multiplayer past co-op....it would be sweet if you built a guy for online, with a set amount of stars so you could specialize in an ability or round yourself out, etc....

Maybe a multiplayer update ?

Some boats would be cool too...

» original article title!

god, i'm tired of seeing titles similar to this on every gaming site i visit. it's not like they're packing a highly anticipated game with a mediocre one (like they did with MGS2 and zone of the enders). Crackdown stands on it's own as a great game and everyone's just lucky that they happened to bundle the halo3 demo in with it.

» Crackdown

I am one of the few in the world who hates Halo...well ok...hate is a strong word...I am only one of the few who sees Halo as just another FPS. I was the first one to snag Crackdown because I bought it for Crackdown. I must admit, unlike Mortal Kombat Armageddon, this was a title that delivered everything I had expected. I love it! I would give it a 9.2.

Wow am I the only one who can look past the pretty graphics and see how unfinished, repetitive, content lacking and overall flawed this game is? Don't get me wrong here the game is fun, well for a day or two. Then all of sudden you realize, hey there is no story at all, the mission are all the same and well collecting orbs is only fun for so long. I had this sinking feeling when I realized I payed $60 for a game that I already played for free. Yes the demo. If you have money to burn thats cool but if you can't afford to buy new games every week or month rent it first because there is nothing in the full game that you cant do in the demo.

» There is plenty...

to do in the real game that cannot be done in the demo....makes one wonder if you have actually played the game...

I am sure that there will be a large number a whacked-out Halo fanboys who will only buy the game for the beta opportunity, as I'm also sure that there are going to be people out there who don't care about Halo 3 that still want to blow ***** up in Crackdown.

However, I, and many people I know, are all buying or have bought Crackdown for Crackdown, and the fact that it comes with an opportunity to join in the Halo 3 beta is just a bonus. I super awesome bonus, but still a bonus.
