Apparently, this is some sort of farewell gesture from Microsoft as they finally close down their XBL service for original Xbox games. The severance package is not merely limited to just the invite too.
Apart from that much-coveted invite, you will also receive three months worth of XBL Gold and 400 Microsoft Points. That's quite the appeasement effort, wouldn't you say?
