GRAW 2: Cross Com, MULE, air strikes, and video |
Ó
So what do we expect from Cross Com 2.0? Picture-in-picture will be available for each squad member. This will allow the player to command his men with the with real time information. Initially it will be a small box in the upper left corner of the monitor. You will be able to view this at full screen, enabling you to see more details and thus make better decisions.
You will be able to control the mounted cameras on the shoulders of your men. This will allow you to view not only what each man sees but the situation around him. The same can be said with the UAV drone; you can give commands to it much as you would you men. You can also view it's immediate surroundings, making it an invaluable scout.
Support units. In terms of support units, the people at Ubisoft have added a plethora of factions and vehicles to aid you in completing missions. These support units can be directed and will follow orders to the best of their abilities. The vehicles that have been included will change the way you plan your missions and make execution easier.
Of note, is the addition of the MULE. It is an unmanned vehicle which essentially looks like an APC. It will serve three purposes in the mission, it will be used as mobile cover, allowing the Ghosts to move across expanses of open territory without taking casualties. It can serve as a scout, moving quickly enough to check ahead of your units and returning to provide cover when they have to engage hostiles. The final, and perhaps the most striking feature of this vehicle, is the fact that it will be a resupply point as well.
Air strikes. Air strikes will also be an option available to commanders. If the mission merits it, air support in the form of bombers will be made available to your squad. When you do call in an airstrike, the area of coverage will be visible. So you will have to move all friendlies out of the strike zone, lest they go down with the bad guys.
A video. The video covers all that and more so it's a very interesting view. Take a minute or seven and view it; you will not be disappointed.
