Xbox 360 - Image 1David Gosen, European VP of strategic marketing for interactive entertainment at Microsoft EMEA was quoted as saying that his company's showing at the upcoming E3  shindig in Los Angeles will be "game changing." He also fired back at analysts criticizing the console's sales and urged them to do some fact-checking.

“Anyone trying to call a winner this Christmas is calling too early,” Gosen said in reference to the Xbox 360's battle with the PlayStation 3. “We are incredibly well positioned – our installed base in Europe is well over five million and contrary to what's been reported we are at least, if not more than, three quarters of a million ahead of PS3.”

“If we look at the momentum in the business in the last few months, the trajectory has changed significantly," he continued. "My only message to the analysts is to check their numbers,”

Looking ahead to E3 2008, Gosen gave a warning to the competition by saying that they're packing some "fantastic surprises" to draw in an even more diverse crowd than it already has.

"WeÂ’re always working on new things, and you'll continue to hear lots from us that we believe will be game-changing," he concludes.

heh

It'll probably be the new controller with motion controls. That'll be revolutionary once they get it out, oh wait...

or...

a Home/secound life thing? lol i dont see what they can do to change things... but honestly i think that they are scared that the ps3 has an advantage now. they had a year head start and now that the ps3 is catching back up they say everything will change... sounds to me like they are getting worried. Hopefully they will have something but i dont think it will be huge..

..

Umm what advantage? You need to learn that Sony, Nintendo, and MS have different definitions on the word "sold". Sony uses the definition of sold as "left the warehouse and is on the way to retailers". MS, and nintendo use the definition of "From retailer to consumer." Sony does not have a current "real" advantage in Europe. It doesnt have a bigger install base.

Thats good to hear....

about the fantastic surprises...but more importantly a real representative telling some facts rather than some dumb analysts claiming that xbox is failing

The Truth

After this battle is over, pharmaceutical companies who manufacture Anti-depressants are going to make a KILLING. PS3 fans, be sure to schedule your doctor appointments early.

I feel ya

Yeah I understand your concern. I've been wondering the same thing man. But honestly, analysts are making us think different. I guarantee you the 360 will end up dominant. We have a massive library of games, a diverse crowd of gamers, but more importantly we have a future. We have games and projects set for the future that will blow the PS3 out of the water. We *****in think ahead. We got this down. Next gen supremacy baby.

That's not true, MS has been known to count shipped consles as sold. They flooded retailers with systems and counted them as sold when trying to reach their 11 million mark.
