Sonic The Hedgehog

Dashing faster than a speeding Superman, guess who's hitting the retail shelves across North America? The, ahem, dashing blue-spiked, white-gloved, red-booted Sonic the Hedgehog himself is taking his 15th anniversary to the next-gen. Although the 360 version has now been shipped into stores, its PS3 version is set for a December release.

For the first time in Sonic history, he and his friends will enter the human world and interact with the locals of Soleanna to gather info, protect them from the vile robots of Dr. Eggman, and purchase new abilities from the various shops in the town. Aside from this setting, there will also be, of course, other stages full of high-octane adventuring as you dash through a scorching desert, an exotic jungle, a snowy hillside, even to futuristic city of metal and flames.

To hell with packing. This is one ride where luggage will slow you down. The ticket costs US$ 59.95, so better run fast before the stocks of the game outrun you.

Hope this is better than the demo

To anyone who has played the final release, is it any better than the demo released on XBL? I played the demo and was pretty disappointed at how much worse they'd made it than the past Sonic Adventures. A lot of critics were unhappy with SA 1 and 2, but I thought they were fun, if not as great as the golden era of the Master System and Mega drive. I've got SA1 and 2 on Dreamcast and SA 2 on the Gamecube, but I won't be picking up this version. Judged on the demo, the camera was terrible, it was regularly pointing in the wrong direction, and the buttons to change the camera angle were near-useless as they moved so slowly. The demo level was very pretty but significantly worse than the SA 2 levels. It didn't even feel fast, it felt disjointed and chaotic. I have heard that the wii Sonic and the Secret Rings is very good though. I'd love for someone to tell me that they fixed all the problems in the demo, and it's really good, but I don't think that will have happened. I think this might be a case of graphics killed the gameplay. It's a real shame, as I've always loved Sonic, back since the original Sonic the Hedgehog for Master System. Bring on Wii.

Demo

The final release is way faster and has no lag, check youtube.com for the final build video ;) . You'll see how much difference thier is between the demo and final release.

.

I might rent it sometime then, but they should really be more careful with the content they put out for demo, as a lot of people thought it was sub-par.

No prob...

Sources say it's going to be November 24 for the 360 version in Europe. The PS3 version, on the other hand, will head towards UK shores come March...

Release

The release date for Holland (That's in Europe) has been changed recently from the 24th to the 17th of November. I wonder if that helps any UK people
