Ghost riders in Crackdown

Grandpasmurf let us know of this funny thing the folks at Acidmods noticed when playing Crackdown. Apparently, some of the NPCs in the video game drive around in invisible cars, and the occurrence is frequent enough to be captured on film.

Below is a video showing off just what happens. According to Acidmods, this is probably caused by the failure of the graphics processor to keep up with the game. On the one hand, it's rare that a game is so awesome that a console can't keep up with it. On the other hand, it's pretty shoddy how RealTime Worlds didn't remedy this with a patch or some such.

Still, in a game where you can jump onto buildings and perform incredible feats of super strength, something like invisible cars should probably seem commonplace anyways.

» Or maybe

Maybe it's just the dvd drive not grabbing the textures off the disk fast enough.

this is proably true,

I have had my 360 for 1 year. And the drive is louder, and it seems like its a little bit slower.

I saw the same thing with saints row.

BUT this game looks like it has really far LOD, but it is really a trick. The stuff in the distance is not really there. (just shoot a few rockets into the distance)

This is a video to people that have never played crackdown i would say just about EVERYONE has already seen this. I have caught film of a glitch where i beat someone down though and he was floating around chasing me above the ground.

"it's pretty shoddy how RealTime Worlds didn't remedy this with a patch or some such."

Why? They patch the issues that gamers complain about. This glitch doesn't affect gameplay any way at all. Yeah they could patch it but why? It doesn't hurt anyone, its not like the shivering isles add on where it kills your game. Realtime Worlds have no reason to patch it if you ask me, it's not major at all
