Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 locking up? |
Ó
The Official Xbox forum thread is attracting attention: M3ATPUPPET reported a couple of days ago that his Xbox 360 locks up "semi-frequently" while playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Five pages later, replies to the thread are mixed: some report lockups at different points in the game, others report flawless playing. They also seem to have different DVD drive setups (which might contribute to the lockup - or maybe not). Other games work fine - including sister Ubisoft title Rainbow Six: Vegas. Multiplayer also seems to be running without a hitch, according to many of the reports. Hopefully Ubisoft is keeping tabs on these reports and are working on a solution.
So far, reading through the thread, they seem to suggest that early/launch 360s, and with Hitachi-LG drives, are more prone to locking up with GRAW 2, if that helps.

I can't even get though the training level... It just freezes, I took it to a mates place and it plays flawlessly on his 360. I bought my 360 at launch in australia, my friend bought his a few months ago... Not happy, but glad to hear its not just me.
After downloading the Nowhere Map, it takes forever to get into a game from friends. The night after the download it took an hour and 3 different servers to try and get a game going with 16 friends. This is crazy, prior to the DL, getting a game going wasnt a problem. Lets get this right, cant believe we're still talking about online problems.
I'm having the same problem with my X Box... Freezes on the training level...
It would just be nice to have the problem acknowledged, and that someone was working on it. I don't mind holding onto the game for awhile, but it would be nice to know i didn't waste my money.
Typical. Mine console started freezing after getting the fall update. Then totally went, with white verticle lines on the screen, followed the the 270 ring of death. I bought a PS3. Which works flawlessly. I wonder how many console's are going to get bricked after the spring update. Beware, of the updates. Hopefully you can delete your d/L and that will fix the problem. Or reformat the harddrive. I do miss XBL, but just can't justify giving M$ any more money for poorly designed hardware, that breaks after updating their own update. And trust me, I do hold my breath even updating my PS3. It's even possible on their machines.
Go and troll the PS3 section, its even possible on the PS3 !! WOW is it ! we didnt know that im so amazed and when people start messing with exploits/firmware etc on the PS3 you can be sure it wont just be possible but it will happen to them to. The rest of your post is just the usual Cut and Paste anti MS bull.
I see this has been a common place. I am having this issue with Call of Duty 3 and GRAW 2. I am just re awakening this thread to see if anyone has heard of some fixes for it. It is very frustrating because I am a fan of all UbiSoft works and now this. If anyone has heard anything please reply or post the news. Thx. Joe Dukes
