Gears of War shipments stuck in Memphis |

Someone's throwing monkey wrenches in Memphis, and it's hit Gears of War pretty badly. Shipments of the Epic Games' highly-rated shooter are having problems getting out of Memphis.According to reports, GameStop and EB Games representatives are informing customers who checked on the status of Gears of War's arrival in their hometowns that there would be a delay. What the delay is, no one's been able to find out as of this writing.
Deepsixx put it best on GoW's official boards, however, saying the following:
First EBgames/Gamestop said midnight Tuesday launch party, then it was 10:30 am Wednesday shipment, then 5pm Wednesday shipment (automated corporate voicemail sent to pre-order customers).
And now...they send out a corporate automated message to numerous pre-orders on the East Coast stating "sometime Thursday".
Called EB Games...statement was "Fedex didn't ship 70% of GOW from Memphis".
If you've already got yourself a copy, congratulations to you. In the meantime, we'll be on the lookout for an actual explanation on what's holding up the GoW supply in Memphis. Till then, sit tight, our Gears-deprived brethren.

Well i caled my eb here in WA and they told me the same thing and they where like well we will give you 5$ off of my copy of the game. in some ways cool but in other wait a pain in the ass best buy game crazy and all those other palces and walmart all had copys but where sold out of the LE copy i pre paid for up frount.
Who cares? I want this game but I probably won't be buying it until the spring. Sorry, but I'm just not lame enough to go running to the store the second something comes out.

Yea same over here in Oregon/ Idaho live in idaho on the border, but anyways they said five dollars off and its coming in Tursday, my friend and I plan on running over there at lunc and then raping when we get home from school. Seriously the gamestop manager which I know personally sounded like he was going to throw the phone against the wall due to the amount of complaints he has gotten guess every has got to just stay frosty.

Well I didnt pre-order and its sucks. I stay in dallas and the Gamestop that I go to in Plano, TX served them on a platter yesterday, pre-order and walkins and my cheap a** is waiting on Gamefly to send it.....but the just changed their available date to 11/10/06...UPS is spend all their money on promotion that they ship all over the world quickly and Cliffy B chooses *****Ex.

yea i cancelled my pre-order and went right next door to best buy to get mine....... gamestop down my way lost alot of pre orders b/c ppl down my way did the exact same thing
I managed to get mine via Pre-order. Picked it up at my local EBX. My only problem now, however, is that I am completely stuck on General RAAM.

yea ive been waitin too.... but i get 5$ off, plus i originally got it for 55$ since i used trade in credit, so i can wait another day and save ten bucks, for a game i know is goin to kick ass all the time, not just only when it first comes out.....
I am in Michigan and on Tuesday I drove around town very irritated. I knew that tuesday was the street date for the game, and that stores should have had GOW in the back room a few days in advance. But no one had them. Fortunately, the shipments came in today (wed) and I got my copy. Right when I was looking at the title screen, I got "that call" saying that my local EB may not have the game in yet. lol
I just called my EB in Clemson and all the pre-orders for the regular edition are in, but all the collectors editions are MIA. They are giving me 5 bucks off for the delay.
lol the years killer app for xbox360 isn't even an exclusive. It "WILL" be released for the PC early next year.

I called my EB and they said the same thing.
So, I went to Wal-mart, then Toys-R-Us and then Best Buy where I finally picked up a copy. I then went back to EB and got the total cost of the game put back on my edge card. The best part is, HOLY SH*T THIS GAME KICKS ASS! Yep, multi-player is awesome. You just need a couple of games to get the hang of it and then it is crazy-go-nuts fun! And the graphics, man I pissed myself. So now I need to go out and get a bigger HDTV.
And your sources for that would be what?
And Alan Wake is still considered console exclusive even though it comes out on PC under the "Games for Windows" campaign in the same timeframe. Halo can be played on a Mac but it is still an exclusive game for the Xbox because you can't play it on Gamecube or PS2. Anyway, whatever, you play your Resistance: Fall of Man game with no multi-player while I play through Gears of War campaign online with a friend or play hours upon hours of multi-player four on four lovin'. You have no idea what you are missing!
