Gears of War in September?

Could Gears of War be coming a little sooner than we think?

We recently reported that October 2nd could be the much-hyped Gears of War Emergence Day, the day the game is finally released. But IGN is reporting that Gears could be showing up early at retailers' as part of the Microsoft sponsored "Gigantour." Gigantour, a heavy metal music tour that will span 25 major market venues from early September to mid-October 2006, has headliner Megadeth as a star of the show.

Craig Davison, Director of Global Games Marketing for Xbox, said, "We're totally jazzed about the partnership between Gigantour 2006 and our forthcoming Xbox 360 blockbuster, 'Gears of War! Partnering a music extravaganza like GIGANTOUR with the launch of a mega-hit game like 'Gears of War' captures the excitement around two awesome happenings for fans of music and video games!"

So, to get the rumor mill churning... Does Davison mean Gears of War is launching at the start of, during, or at the end of Gigantour?

Fanboys of the Xbox 360 know that the sooner Gears is released, the better. If Gears of War is released this early before the holiday season, it would compete with other next-gen console launches. Supposedly, a Â“BIG announcementÂ” will be made next week at the Epic Forums. Could this release date be it?

this would be great but I doubt it will happen because double agent is suppose to come out around this time and I dont think that they want to over shadow either game's release, but even if they do relsease them both in the same month I will still be getting both of them, cause there both gonna be insanely hot games

I laughed when I read "...totally jazzed..." But That would be sweet if it came out in early early September. I'll be able to play it and finish it before I started working later in the month. The sooner the better.

Hope is not lost, merely, it is just not where you are looking. As stated, the colony has returned, not where it last was, but somwwhere else.

Queries may be sent, switchboarding may be made, aswell as traces, but one thing is certain, the colony has returned. Join a colony, or make your own? The choice is yours.

I'll call it.....they have playable demo's of the game all throughout the tour and hype the crap out of it, then release it at some super hype grand finale party/show type thing....or something very similar.

This game is too big to be realeased so soon. Microsoft needs a counter attack vs the wii and the ps3. Halo 3 will not be out this year so thats out of the question.

October might serve to turn some heads of those waiting for a ps3 to quickly get a 360.

microsoft it always thinking that one game will destroy every thing. I read xbox fans saying that its all over when hellno 3 comes out. its funny maybe not every body is trying to play shooting games. most of the gamers want rpg's and sports. although the 360 have good sports titles it lacks rpgs. 360 sucks and in the end microsoft will be making games for sony and nintendo.
