Gears of War Dated - Prepare for Battle on November 12th

"Emergency Day" has been revealed and the most anticipated Xbox 360 title is coming this November. This is the "big" announcement we have all been waiting for it seems, so the wait is now over! As stated in the press release -

"Gears of War tells the harrowing story of mankind's struggle against the monstrous Locust Horde through stunning high-definition graphics and an intense storyline on the scale of a blockbuster movie."

Gears of War will be released on November 12th in the US and November 17th in the UK. This is quite a surprise to us all as the PS3 is being released 5 days after the US release and on the day of the UK release. Is this just a big coincidence or is it just a viral marketing strategy by Microsoft to steal the thunder from the Sony giant? There has also been an official announcement within the press release of a limited edition version of the game (69.99$) costing 10$ more than the basic version. The juicy limited edition includes -

"an even deeper look into the graphically stunning and frightening world of Gears of War, providing an official "Destroyed Beauty" art book and a bonus DVD featuring an inside look at the making of the gameÂ—all enclosed in a highly collectible metal box."

it may look but not worth buying for becuase the price will eventually go down. what if the game is really hard or boring shooting games. go to the root the game instead. there suits are bulking and probably slow runners, halo was a slower in it, i thought halo was the best fps game, no wait its, doom, duke, unreal 2007. so who cares. there might not be another xbox ,because bill gates is getting tired of it, true.

and what exactly makes this game so much better than all of the other shooters out now and coming out? i've heard a lot of hype, but still don't quite get it..? is it just the graphics?

It's not just the graphics. They are trying to switch up the FPS genre abit by focusing more on cover and squad based gameplay. Lot's of hiding behind coutches and behind pillars and shooting from cover, and supposedly the environment will deteriorate away....

It sounds interesting forsure, and given who's working on it I have the same feeling about it that I did about Halo...and look what happened there. This is definately something I am skipping school for...

Yo, Gears of War is a THIRD person shooter, not first. Oh and I am definately looking forwards to it...Chainsaw fun gameplay plus smooth animations, framerate, amazing environments/graphics=Yay!!!
