Gears of War available at Best Buy RIGHT NOW?!

Which is why we're called what we're called.You might want to call up your nearest Best Buy right now and confirm if this is true. xXx Core xXx of The 360 Forum gleefully exclaims that he's landed his own copy of Epic Games' Gears of War from Best Buy. The ironic thing is, the POS rang it up as "God of War," he chuckles.

Why do we foresee riots in Best Buys nationwide? And it's only Sunday! (Gears is scheduled for a November 7 shipping, as far as we know... did anything change without us knowing it?)

Well, the forum runs into twenty-one pages of reply after reply after reply. All of these replies can be broken down into the following categories:
  • "You have the game?1 Kick-a**! Does it live up to the hype?"
  • "OMG OMG OMG Must call up Best Buy NOW!!!"
  • "Yeah, GoW is kick-a**, like because (game details and spoilers follow)..."
  • "I hate you."
What we wanna know is how - or even IF - Best Buy actually has copies of the game before its scheduled release (Unless, if course, that explains why they're called "Best Buy..." Sigh). Call your nearest Best Buy NOW! Tell us if they have copies of the game AFTER! But right BEFORE you play the game, okay?

I'm an Assistant Supervisor at Bestbuy and we have not yet received our shipment of Gears of War, the pos for the sku/upc correctly shows this game listed as Gears of War, so some bestbuy somewhere made a terrible terrible mistake for a very lucky gamer.

toy r us had a thing on their web site that said if you buy online it would be shipped on the 3rd.they have been known to release a lot of games early. I got field commander a full week before its release, and saints row three days early.
