Epic Games CEO Mark Rein quelled growing concerns that their upcoming uber-mega-blockbuster game, Gears of War will be too easy. Rein responded on the Gears of War message boards, where he stated the following:
"Cliff was playing on the "casual" mode designed for casual gamers (i.e. easy). Always best to do that (or GOD mode) for a demo. Regardless it won't be that easy for a first-time player to take down the Locusts. I saw one of the world's top game designers play a portion of a level, that Cliff can get through in 2 minutes, and it took him about 15 minutes. Cliff makes it look easy."
Well that's certainly good news to hear, although developers often demonstrate their games playing in the above mentioned "GOD mode" (that way they don't die embarrassingly over and over). It's also comforting to know that the game's not going to be a breeze to blast through, it'd be a shame if after all the hype the experience is over too quickly.
