Gears of War 3 is almost a foregone conclusion. It's just a matter of "when". According to a report from Edge, we might see the next entry in Epic Games' epic franchise next year.
A "trusted US publishing source" has reportedly said that Gears of War 3 has been pencilled in for an April 8, 2011 release with a full reveal set for this year's E3.
The source further noted that the game could be completed as early as this year, but Microsoft is holding off on the release to give it some breathing room away from Halo: Reach and Natal. Epic has also decided not to release any games this year to focus on supporting games made using its Unreal Engine.
