GDC 2008: Molyneux reveals new Fable 2 features, screens, video |
Ó

With the unprecedented success of Lionhead Studios' Fable on the original Xbox console, it was no surprise to see Peter Molyneux at the Game Developer Conference 2008 to promote the upcoming sequel of the third person action RPG.
During the event, Molyneux showed off some of the new features that Fable 2 will be sporting. One of these new additions is a new mini-game called "Keysto".
What makes this game interesting is the fact that players can play it separately on the Xbox Live Arcade and earn money there separately from the main game. Any winnings earned from here can be then transferred into Fable 2. Keysto will be available on XBLA a few weeks before the release of Fable 2 to help players "save up money".
Perhaps one of the most interesting features that was showcased during the event was the dynamic co-op play integrated into the game. This allows players to allow other characters to join their game at any time using their Gamertag.
However, Molyneux warns players on taking care of whom you invite into your game world since any actions undertaken by your invited guests are more or less permanent. After all, it would be rather awkward to have your virtual wife and kids suddenly murdered should your guest decide to go on a spontaneous killing spree.
With that said, these new additions make the game seem more like a virtual life simulator rather than a simple next-gen RPG. This definitely makes Fable 2 a sequel to watch out for when it goes live this November 15 exclusively for the Xbox 360.

I think the XBLA game is gonna be called "Keystone" NOT "Keysto" - no worries The co-op is gonna be a very neat addition... maybe I'll be able to talk a few o' my friends into getting somethign that's not an FPS
This game has some really good graphics.I can't wait to check this game out in Nov.
