The allageed GameStop Elite bundles - Image 1

Given that the Xbox 360 Elite is being readied for release this April 29, we decided to check out how GameStop was planning to promote this latest Microsoft console. A quick trip to their site revealed two bundles being readied for purchase (from left to right): The Obsidian Bundle, and the Rock Bundle. Based on Ars Technica's Opposable Thumbs, we've also picked that which these two packs carry:

Obsidian Bundle (US$ 561.98)
  • Elite System
  • Wireless Controller and Charge Kit
  • Black Rechargeable Battery
Rock Bundle (US$ 569.98)
These are the only details we can scrounge up at the moment - a trip to the GameStop site's posting for these two bundles led to broken links for each. We're not sure what this implies, although we've enclosed a read link to the GameStop site in case you guys want to see these packs for yourself.  Just make sure to have the corresponding cash (or trade-in) ready when you march up to your stores this Sunday.

Can you buy just the console, or do you HAVE to buy one of these sh*t bundles? GameStop/EB can piss off if you do, they already give too little for trade-in of your current 360 as it is.

Bundles-only should be illegal, couldn't stand that sh*t back when the 360 was released. But I didn't cave like a weakling and spend hundreds more than I needed to for crap I didn't need (whoever bought that one bundle that included the LCD HDTV and like ten games just to get their hands on the 360 really needs to review themselves as a person), I might have gotten it much later than I would've preferred but at least I kept my dignity.

# Yes you will be able to buy the basic unitGuest 2007-04-27 02:21
Of course you will be able to buy it on its own, these are just some other options that save people some money (especially if they want guitar Hero 2 with it)thats all, and if they didnt then just shop elsewhere as there will be plenty of stores who will be selling the single pack, thats what im getting (trading in my original xbox but keeping the Premium to)as I already have GH2 anyway..
