Gears of War Epic Games - Image 1Avid gaming news readers may have noticed something good - something really, really good - on the cover of Gamespot's newest issue: Epic Games' Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360, PC). Yes, it's Gears of War 2, and its certainly one of the best news that we've come across so far.

We just wish that it's true. As it turns out, Epic Games' Mark Rein debunked the news of Gears of War 2 quite hard, in the game's official forums. Here is his take on the matter: "It is complete nonsense. We have not announced a sequel to Gears of War to Gamepro or anyone else for that matter."

Well, there you have it. It's a pretty blunt way of disappointing those who had their hopes up upon seeing "Gears of War 2" on GamePro's cover, but hey, that's life. At least, there's a chance that we may get to find real news on the much-awaited sequel in the upcoming Game Developer Conference 2008 event.

# Bring it on over to the PS3 when you do decide to make the sequelManny151 2008-02-05 05:13
lol. It would be stupid for them not to make it a multi platform title. By the time this game comes out there will be more than plenty of PS3's in peoples hands. Sh1 t more than likely it will run better on the PS3 than on the 360 by that time. They'll probably require a partial install to the HDD and we all know that M$ can't do that without alienating all the people that bought the core version. lmao it might even be a multi disc game for the 360 unless they decide to make it short as hell. OH and by the way I own a 360 and the original Gears of War, but I'm a gamer first and whichever system can deliver a better product is the one I'll stick with. The 360 is already begining to show it's age. Devil May Cry 4 is just a glimpse of what's to come. The reason they can't do an install on the 360 for DMC 4 is because M$ didn't allow it because of all the people that bought the core version of the 360. Sh1 t the upcoming Lost Odyssey will be a four disc title. I'm getting it anyways but if that was on a Dual layered Blu-Ray it probably would've fit on a single disc. Well that's my 2 cents PEACE!!!
