GalagaIt's been a few months since Microsoft announced that the classic shoot 'em up Galaga would be heading to Xbox Live Arcade. The game is now celebrating it's 25th year anniversary, a fitting date for a XBLA debut. Still, two and a half decades since Midway put the game into arcades, it remains one of the most collected games today. It was one of the first titles to feature multiple attack patterns by enemies.

Obviously, Microsoft has given Galaga a facelift so that it can still be enjoyable in a high-definition resolution. The 250 levels will provide you with enough shooting action for quite a while, and if that's not enough, 12 unique achievements have been designed to keep you playing until the end. You can also earn perfect bonuses and improve your fighter, compete with your highscore on the worldwide leaderboards, or try out the unique Dual Fighter combination attack mode. Finally, original music and sound effects have been designed in order to round out the experience.

If everything goes according to plan, you should see Galaga on Xbox Live Arcade today, with a price of 400 points. Happy hunting!

UPDATE: Yes, Galaga is now up in the Marketplace but witbyt (thanks for the tip!) posted some images of a warning that showed up when he tried to delete the game after download. We're not really sure what to make of these warnings...but if you do encounter the same problems and you have an inkling as to why these warning shows up, let your fellow XBLA users know of it by leaving your comments below.
