Full 3D models possible with two Kinects |

Ó
Microsoft designed Kinect for a number of different purposes - gaming and all-around Xbox user interface, for example. Gadget extraordinaires and tech aficionados, however, have found other uses for the motion camera, as you may have seen from many vids all over the net. One of the first to post such vids, Oliver Kreylos, has a new one to show. If one Kinect can show you part of your surroundings, imagine what two could do.
Yep, you get a full 3D model, as Kreylos shows in his latest vid.

is like if I say that the eyetoy from PS2 is very cool because I can take 3 eyetoy cameras in 3 axis of an object with a reference image in background of all perspective and I get a 3d object with a pictures of the object as textures, it simply has nothing to do with eyetoy used in a PS2, and I can use better cameras and get better results for less money or even better you can use a common laser pointer and track it for an acurate 3d object scan
in my opinion using a couple kinetic cameras to do that is just a waste of money, there are much better homebrew projects that are cheaper with more common hardware, but of course you need to use kinetic to appear in the frontpage of a videogame page and get the interests of fanboys no matter if the result is worst and costs more money to do
