Microsoft Launches Free Your Avatar Toolkit - Image 1

Is your Xbox 360 avatar getting cramps from just standing there all day long? Well it's time to get the Free Your Avatar toolkit from Microsoft, which will let your avatar stand in other places besides your Xbox 360, like Facebook, Messenger, and even in your iPhone background. Great tool if you don't want to bother with Photoshop.

Free Your Avatar is a web-based service that will let you customize your avatar with different backgrounds (as well as your own customized one), props, and text. You can even load your friend's avatar and set it beside yours. Kinda creepy though, so ask them first.

They also just loaded some new Valentine's stuff, perfect for this weekend's festivities. Although I don't think just a Valentine's card with your avatar on it will make your significant other happy. Unless it comes with a coupon for one hour of fun in the bedroom playing... ehem... Gears of War 2. And sex.

This is just completely unimpressive. You can't rotate anything. Your avatar looks forward without any ability to choose expression or direction. And hasn't this been out since December?

Hm

The release last December was for other regions, apparently. The Microsoft press release specifically stated that this version is for the US launch. They must have forgot that the Internet doesn't care where you come from unless there are specific blocks for it.
