Were you one of the uber-excited Modern Warfare 2 gamers who bought the Stimulus Package immediately after it hit the store shelves? Good on you, mate. Because of your immediate purchase, Microsoft's rewarding you with a full week's worth of free XBL Gold status (and supposedly as reparation for the problems that came along with the package).

Major Nelson, aka Larry Hryb, made the announcement, tipping off folks to "Check your Live messages" to see if they got the reward. Granted, yes, that the XBL Gold membership was a pre-requisite for the Stimulus Package, another week of it definitely isn't bad at all, right?

 

 

Besides, it's free. You don't complain if it's free.

If thats what they want they should get a ps3.

I mean what kind of incentive is it really? a free week online, on the only console/computer that charges you to play online.

there should be laws against making people pay twice for the internet.

considering it's $60/yr for live... you're getting a whole $1.15 worth of "free" gold membership. It's hardly something to get excited about.

It's $50/yr and you can find 12 month cards for $40, making it about a $0.77 value. Get your facts straight! I love live but a free week for people that obviously already have it? That's pretty lame.
