DLC has buggies! Yay for Crackdown! - Image 1

DLC providers of the future, take heed. Realtime Worlds has succeeded in creating a perfect example of how Downloadable Content">downloadable content should play out in the future. You'd be wise to take their stand, as it is bound to be the standard by which future DLC will be judged.

How can we throw around words like that so lightly? Well, if you've seen the preview of the Crackdown update, you'll understand. Since it's a long update though, let us give you a couple of pointers on their upcoming DLC package.

Now, the DLC will come in two versions: "Free-for-All" and "Getting Busy." With the free DLC, you essentially get a host of bug fixes (yay for better orb finding!) and The Keys to the City, a debug mode that allows you to spawn all sorts of cheats from infinite ammo to super strength. You'll also be allowed to impound any car you see on the street, and there's even a list that'll tell you which cars you haven't taken to your lair.

For people willing to pay for the "Getting Busy" pack, you'll be getting three new vehicles, additional modes for solo and cooperative play and a ton of new equipment (Rocket Launchers FTW!) in addition to everything that comes with the "Free-for-All" package. If you're interested in seeing just what else the Crackdown has to offer, don't hesitate to check out the read link for more. It's a doozy.

» No man...

Doesn't give a timeframe...

Also I want to say that this is really frigging ghey...

Why do I have to endure adverts for Dodge, the Navy (when im in canada, we have no navy, per say ) and movies....then I have to pay for DLC ? Sorry, f*ck that....the game was full price and I AM seeing no benefits to in game advertising...i'm sure MS and RTW are seeing plenty though...

Screw this, i'm not paying for ANYTHING for crackdown, unless they take out the *****ty ads....

» Best?

Um... if Crackdown was the best 360 game then it would beat out GoW on the most played list... sorry to burst those fanboi bubbles. Plus Gears gave a lot of free stuff before heading down the pay road.

» "Best?"?

Who said "best?" The writer claimed that this DLC was the best, which sounds to be true, it sounds awesome. And you're point that Gears is better because it's played more is incorrect. Gears is more popular, but that doesn't necessarily make it better. It may mean that everyone who's playing it are just idiots who have horrible taste. I'm not saying Gears is better or worse than Crackdown. That opinion simply varies from person to person.

» OH EM GEE

BEST DOWNLOAD CONTENT EVER. I'm really liking the sound of all of it, I already love this game and this DLC seems like it'll make the game ten times better. Especially the orb sound modifier thing, I cannot find the last 15 Agility Orbs at all, not without wasting hours upon hours of time anyway. Cheat mode sounds amazing too

» Freaking awesome can't wait

The game is awesome + the DLC is awesome + Halo 3 beta is coming out next week + new demos coming out + the Spring Dashboard update = good times for 360 gamers. It sucks that my 360 is getting repaired by Microsoft and I'm just crossing my fingers I get it back before Wednesday in which the Halo 3 beta comes out and the DLC for Crackdown (when ever it comes out next week).

Just one question, with the cars that you can impound, is it just to collect them or can you customize them? Meaning can you change their color or add something to them?

» ...

a city without advertisements doesn't look like a city. if there is any game advertising has a place in it's sports, racing, and anything with a major city in it. you're a fanboy... you'd hate anything 360 related regardless. your opinion is meaningless.

» its up

Content is now available, its 89mb for the free pack, and seeing how you can sample the things from the getting busy pack in coop aswell, im guessing its 89mb for all of the content, purchasing just unlocks the getting busy stuff.
