You want more details? You got it. As promised, more Final Fantasy XIII are coming out this month, starting off with this big reveal, courtesy of Gamefly, of how many discs will the Xbox 360 version require.

That's too much. Just three.

Said the retailer, the Xbox 360 version of the game will be squeezed into three discs. It makes the previous speculations of a three to four-disc release quite accurate. How exactly will they be packaging it? We'll find out soon enough.

Final Fantasy XIII comes out next month.

That may be true, but the fact that the 360 version is being handled by another team, and the fact that it uses a completely different engine than it's PS3 counterpart speaks to there being no compromise to the PS3 version.

In fact, if there's any compromise at all, it's in the 360 version. Had they been able to put all of FFXIII on a single or even two 360 disks, then perhaps you could have cried foul. Or if the visuals for the PS3 version had taken a hit you could have cried foul.

Analysis of your post by a troglodyte exposes it as nothing but verbal diarrhea.

No matter what you think, Square-Enix's decision to create a version of FFXIII for the 360 in North America is based on market share, and regardless of you liking it or not, it means that there wasn't enough faith in the PS3 community alone to support the cost of the project. Which means it's not just Microsoft's fault for throwing money around, it means it's Sony's fault for not making the PS3 a more desirable system.

Do us all a favour, take what little dignity you have, and either become an hero, or GTFO. The internet could use one less mouth-breather.

they said they had to compromise a certain systems version just to make the 2 games similar, though right now i dont have proof of the other compromises, yes theres alot, but japanese voicing was taken out because a certain system could not contain enough memory on their discs. no matter how small the compromise, a compromise is a compromise

Blue Dragon was 3 discs and Lost Odyssey was 4....both games were not know for being all that expansive. This means we can expect about the same for FF. You would think they would want to make it a bit more epic since it's FF's first next gen game.

Also, all the talk everywhere is that the game is extremely linear up until Chapter 11 or something. I am willing to bet a lot of cash that that is when you pop in that last disc.

The game could have more content than blue dragon, because blue dragon put the main city on each disc so you did not have to switch.

FF is probably so linear because of the need to control where the player goes and when they switch discs....

All theoretical of course, but i'd put money on it....

N.E ways? Some abbreviation!

Anyways = seven keystrokes

N.E ways = ten keystrokes (shift, n, release shift, dot, shift, e, release shift, space, ways)

Not only does it require more work, the exact opposite of using an abbreviation, but it also makes you look like a fool. A fool!!

i agree with you bbuutt i still like that it is on the 360. i mean it would have looked better on the ps3 if it was made only for it but final fantasy 13 versus will be only for the ps3 so let the 360 fans have some fun.

Three discs isn't bad at all. Lost Odyssey had four discs. Honestly changing discs isn't an issue. You move form disc 1 to 2 and then you play disc 2 'til 3; no jumping back and forth. Although I wish they had done 4. All that story that could have been... Lost Odyssey's story rocked so much! Any how, I'm getting it for the PS3! Happy FF-ing on either systems guys! Hell yeah FFXIII!

I love disk-swapping. In fact, the only game that did a bad job of this was Star Ocean 4. Disk-swapping is 15% of the fun of FF games!

All turn based combat games are dull anyway. Mass effect and fallout are way better than any FF game.

FF like zelda is a childs rpg.

Your mom is a child's RPG.

In all seriousness though, Mass Effect is extremely juvenile most of the time. So I wouldn't call that an adult RPG. It's also extremely limited and expects its userbase to be pants on head retarded, hence them taking out all the difficult numbers.

Fallout is pretty nice, yeah, but then again, most people played it, ended up just wandering around, and probably never finished it. Sandboxes have their pitfalls too.

Lost Odyssey, now there was a strong RPG.

While I agree that it really sucks that they took most of the numbers and whatnot out of Mass Effect 2 to make it more playable by the average gamer, I think that calling it a child's RPG is maybe a little harsh.

Also, holy hell, did they ever ramp up the difficulty of Insanity!

Yes because mass effect contains the same level of ingenuity as Zelda does in its puzzles or final fantasy does in its combat system. Zelda differs, Mass Effect does not, I got pretty bored of bland white covered halls to be honest.

People whine too much about changing disks these days, if you wanna feel gratefull for what you got then get hold of a ZX Spectrum and load up a few games.

What's with all the bad blood? You guys should be on wrestling.

I remember back in the day, when us dirt poor kids used to lend each other games. This was fine with Megadrive and snes games but when we made the transition to CD we found scratches could ruin games. Once the CD had been passed around like the village whore we found our games were no longer worth anything.

You know, I never got to see the full ending to FF8 because of a scratched disc.

In sumnation, the hermphroditic cat climbed up to the hill and said to itself "flavour".

Let that be a lesson to us all. Goodbye and Goodnight.

if you are crying that its disc on 360 then just buy it on ps3 and stop crying about it i just want to play the game since the last final fantasy game was ff10 and that was in 2000 or 2001 so like 9 yrs ago and this finaly seems like it has a chance of being a good final fantasy just hope it some what lives up to the old games
