Final Fantasy XI update: Odin World may face overpopulation issues |
Ó
According to the two, as of now, Final Fantasy XI is home to a total of 32 Worlds populated by 1.7 million characters and half a million registered users. Among these, the two continued, the server with most happenings is the Odin World.
"When compared with the average numbers of 55,000 characters and between 15,000 and 16,000 users per World, the Odin World in particular stands out with a staggering 70,000 characters and 23,000 registered users as of the end of March," said PlayOnline.
While this is generally good news, PlayOnline and Square Enix cautioned that overpopulation is not good for any MMORPG. That's why a free character transfer was offered to the residents of Odin. Aside from that solution, the developers also outline the following:
Removal from the list of destinations for a World Transfer or the list of Worlds available on the character creation screen, as well as continuing to provide free World Transfer services, are some of the ideas being considered for overpopulated Worlds.
That's about it for now for Final Fantasy XI. Remember that it would be good to heed the advice of PlayOnline to avoid game imbalance and other problems in the future.
