Square Enix's Crystal Defenders coming to XBLA this Wednesday - Image 1

Looks like the Xbox 360 got first dibs on Square Enix's Crystal Defenders before any of the consoles. It's officially announced that the game will be released on Xbox Live this Wednesday, along with PopCap's Peggle.

Crystal Defenders picks up where Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift left off. Unlike Grimoire though, Crystal Defenders is a tower defense game where you place units in strategic places to stop monsters from stealing crystals. But like Grimoire, the game will have an insane amount of missions: 300 in all.

Supposedly the console versions will be "enhanced ports" of the iPhone versions, but we're still not clear on how exactly that is. We'll know by Wednesday though.

Squeenix sure likes to suck M$'s *****....

Absolutely no reason why this shouldn't be on PSN, it was even announced for it, but whadda you know, Microsoft winks with some dollars and Square Enix jumps like a tamed dog....

I bet in time this will be on PSN, but look at it from square enix's Angle. Why put a game on a console with a far smaller player base? It probably isn't only M$ money helping decide the landing, but where they might make most profit.

If you were to be given millions of dollars, wouldn't you do the same?

That's the problem: I wouldn't do it otherwise. That's the fault of the whole system. We live in the capitalism. Capital a.k.a. Money is more important than social aspects as it would be in the Socialism. Money rules the world.

I was merely stating the facts.

that's how the world works. Even if they don't want to they sort of have to do it, for their self-interest or for the shareholder's sake. there's always an issue of corporate governance and all that crap, plus with the marketing environment where the target segment needs to be profitable enough.
