Fall Update takes out Gamerscore cheaters |
Ó

Well, that entire Fall Update being a bricker rumor's been debunked by some research work, although it had caused quite a firestorm. There is something that the Fall Dashboard Update (or is it the updated update?) will deliberately take out, however, and it's not hacked 360s. It's hacked Gamerscores.
As reported by awfullygood in "Confessions of a Gamerscore Whore" and TANK in 2old2play, the Fall Dashboard update throws in a new "hybrid locking mechanism" that prevents players from trading game saves so they can inflate their Gamerscores. Currently, there are three ways to hax your G-score to appear likes u da Live man a**-kikkrz.
- Method 1: Saves from games dating from launch to March/April 2006 were "Unlocked" and could be given to or traded with any user.
- Method 2: Games after April/May 2006 have their saves locked to a specific console. Hackers were able to extract the specifics of the Console ID, however, and created "Bypass," which tricks the 360 into matching this ID code to any game save a player would want to use.
- Method 3: Many Arcade titles, Perfect Dark, and Far Cry game saves are profile-locked. Only your Profile can play those games. Still, cheaters can simply trade accounts by exploiting the Account Recovery system.
Speaking of which, as TANK asks, what's with all this obsession into Gamerscore, that people would do this just to pump their numbers up? It's gotten so bad, notes TANK and awfullygood, that former #1 ranked player ST TheKing retired from the scene in protest of all this inflating. Yeah, we know it has something to do with the competitive drive and all. Still, you look up these Scores and wonder, "Okay, who's lying?"

lol what a dork, "ST TheKing" that is. "retired from the scene". What scene? The gamerscore collecting scene? LOL. get a life, even i have no life but ive not fallen that far down the abyss
He was probably cheating too. I think anyone who has a score of 20,000 or above is cheating in some way. Just go to 360gamesaves.com and they are dedicated to g-score whoring.
I said "anyone", but I'm sure there are some who did them legitimately.
the thing that sucks is that now the people whjo didnt even care about the points.. are screwed. some of us liked to download saves to have everything beat for us and transfer them via xsata and such.. i dont care bout my gamer points.. but i dont like playing certain games through to reach content.. like saints row. i like having everything unlocked so i can just play around and go ape***** rampage without fear of reaching story points.. there are some peopel out there who like racing with the best car right off the bat.. or dont wanna go through all of tony hawks story line just to play a full level. this sucks and i think its wrong to have done. people should have the option of sharing their save games.. does this mean that friends cant use other friends game saves now on another system?
high gamerscore = small ***** a known fact
My gamerscored at 11,625 and i have dedicated a lot of time to my score and i have never cheated, and now we all have to deal with the cheaters bull*****.
WHY would you want a high gamer score anyway? All that tells people is that you are the biggest f.a.g ever who does nothing but plays video games all day. I'm sorry, but anyone with a gamer score over 2,000 obviously does nothing but play xbox.
i strongly disagree. you can have over 2,000 points and still have a life. 360 has been out for almost a year now, and even playing it once every 2 weeks could get you two thousand points if you're playing games on your level.
if u beat 2 games completely u have over 2000 points
20,000 u think are cheaters i just found out what these guys are doing with profile sharing what ever u call it i have my gamerscore legit but because the asses did this screwed everything up for the guys who spend time on this its easy to critisize us punk
