Fable 2 nowhere near finished, planned to be the greatest game ever |

One of the most promising video games Xbox 360 owners are waiting for is Fable 2, the sequel to a grand RPG that easily topped sales charts. The good news is, Lionhead Studios' still set on making it "the greatest game of all time." The bad news? It's nowhere near finished.Well, the game being in the middle of development isn't something to frown about. So far, we've seen from previous videos and concept art that Fable 2 looks breathtaking; a blog post on Lionhead's community site says that "the game will look at least a gazillion times better than anything youÂ’ve seen."
We're talking "uber-detailed" textures here, and up to 50 character models on screen with dynamic shadows. Following the first installment, day and night cycles will be implemented and manifested through realistic lighting on expansive outdoor locations.
Another promise coming from the devs is that "Fable 2 is graphically going to be a masterpiece." One Italian dev from their team even went as far as saying the game will kick BioShock's water effects.
On the positive side of things, development is already on "fleshing out the final bits." This is expected to take a while, but it's hard to complain if the final product will be chiseled to perfection. Expect Fable 2 on shelves sometime next year.

every thing will fit if they use texture compression id engine tech can fit 40 gigs of textures on one dvd9 disk it will not be a problem 2008 is going to amazing 360 is going to continue to amaze stay tuned people
It's good to see MS is ok with pushing back development for the sake of producing quality. Sony was forced to push out Lair and Heavenly Sword too early and both games suffered. MS has pushed back release dates on Mass Effect, Halo 3, Alan Wake and Fable 2 and I expect each of these game will be first class and polished so well because of it.
Going to start playing Stranglehold. Looks like a good game, but this is another game that really needed more polish.
Lionhead Studios has a way of hyping a game and then not delivering the goods. I hope this game actually delivers on what they're promising, but I'll wait for the reviews before getting too excited.

Fable got good reviews, the game just need more money and development time. MS are giving them that. But your right, saying that it's planned as the greatest game ever over hyping the game.

I thought that the greatest game (RPG) was Final Fantasy and or for an FPS it would Crysis.
They already explained what they meant by greatest game ever they said they dont believe in setting out to make anything other than the best...
so obviously theyre planning to make the greatest game ever i would be very dissapointed if they set out to make the ok'est game ever. They have not said it is the greatest game ever they just said thats their goal which would be the goal for any of the great game developers out there, only the crappy money hungry developers set out to make a game which would be anything less.
Molyneux seems to have changed his tune from what weve seen so far it already seems at least to me anyway that fable2 will be worth the dosh

i wish this was true because we dont see that many good RPG games on the Xbox but theres no way they are going to fit that on a single DVD9
final fantasy games are not appealing to me. i love all the western rpg.s like oblivion and two worlds( was ok) and everything else but i cant stand japenese rpg's. they are for little 10 year olds and the people that dont grow out of them. i personally loved fable the lost chapters( i waited for that one). and i will probably love this one. i love western rpg's and cant stand japenese ones( nothing against sony because i fuc king love them and the my ps3). i just wish more western rpgs to the ps3 and guit with final fantasy. by the way i think Blue Dragon sucks dont buy it

I never played any of those game (FF is just way to much sequels for me to keep up and I never/cant play Crysis because my computer doesnt latest of everything) I just thought that those games were best because they way people talk about it. But of course somebody is going to call you fanboy if you something good about a console or its game, how sad.
Hopefully they will with xbox 360's advance compress technology i read about a while back.
You people are stupid. If cannot appreciate storytelling and art, then fine, go play Doom. (Which is fun...) However, games like Final Fantasy are turn-based becaused they're not about button mashing and special moves, it's about a story, it's a Role-Playing Game--not anything else. While some Final Fantasies are bad, others are truly magnificent. Xenogears, Shenmue, Final Fantasy, all truly amazing story-telling experiences... Chances are, if you don't enjoy good movies and reading in general, you probably won't like RPGs... But don't knock it 'till you try it! And don't compare silly FPS games to turn-based battling... Remember kids, in an RPG, fighting is not why the game was made!

Don't be brain washed by the Sony Blu-Ray propaganda, DVD9 is plenty on space for games. Mass Effect is going to blow people away with it's detailed open worlds and 40+ hours of gameplay.
Why dont you people understand, look DVD9 is like last-generation at it will take a hella lot of compression to put big game on (I think) 9gb that is why MS should have at least but an HD DVD drive in their machine.

Most of the space for games is usually taken up by graphics, not sound. Even Heavenly Sword, which has more audio than most games because of all the cutscenes, has 10GB for audio alone, which is 40% of the 25GB Blu-ray disk that it fills. The majority of games would have far less than this as a percentage.
By your figures, Heavenly Sword should be using 17GB-22GB just for audio, leaving only 3GB-8GB for the graphics and the game. See how stupid your claim is now?
Sony wasn't forced to release Lair or Heavenly Sword, Lair is made by a third party devloper, not Sony. Also Heavenly Sword was released on time and not early.
You can name all the games you want but we still have a lot of good exclusives as well and it just annoys me that you cant see that and accept that both consoles have good exclusives.
But yes, there's nothing wrong with multiple discs for games.

Fable 1 was awesome, but too short. With Fable 2 taking a long time in development theres no denying it will be a fantastic game. It already looks great and has a year to go!
