Brutes NOT playable

Need we say more? The article's title itself says pretty much everything. Bungie has finally given a statement about the rather mysterious clipping from a few days back when their friend semi-leaked some info. A lot of you guys doubted the announcement of the supposed 7-minute Halo 3 video that would become available on the 20th. The doubt here is quite understandable, given that Bungie wouldn't really leak this kind of info.

Although lots of other websites and online forums have been spattered with confirmations and debunkings of this "leak," for the record, let's set things straight. Frank O'Connor does confirm that the video will be available on XBL next week. "You'll be able to see the entire thing in 720p and surround sound," he writes. "It's a very interesting piece. Especially if you're interested in Campaign mode."

With regards to the bit about the Brutes, they aren't playable (he's previously mentioned that in other updates). "The fact is, Brutes in Halo 3 will be significantly more exciting, clever, graphically impressive, terrifying, numerous, and angrier than in Halo 2," he explains. But: "They won't be playable, especially since you, in the role of Master Chief, will be spending a significant amount of effort and ammunition reducing their population."

There you have it. It's official. All that matters now is waiting patiently for next week. Unless, of course, another dude leaks the video before then... Hehe.
