EEDAR: Xbox 360 Elite price cut won't affect sales significantly, MS to drop prices some more |
Ó
Despite the US$ 100 price cut from the Xbox 360 Elite, analyst firm EEDAR is of the opinion that this will not in any way positively affect the sales of the console. At least not significantly."In fact, the consistency of sales would indicate that the US$ 200 price point is a sweet spot for the next-generation home consoles," said the company in a statement. Director Jesse Divnich went on further to say that MS will most likely drop the tag some more to US$ 249 or close to it, in order to be able to later on sell the unit at US$ 299 with the Project Natal.
Said Divnich:
Over the next year Microsoft will most likely reposition the Xbox 360 Elite model closer to the US$ 249 price point to both pressure Sony and attract potential Nintendo Wii consumers.
From a strategic standpoint this would then allow Microsoft to introduce the new Natal model in 2010/2011 at the US$ 299 price point and still have an option for consumers cheaper than the Sony PlayStation 3.

Like I've said before, I don't care if its free, if it has a Microsoft logo on it, it's not for me.
dude shut the fvck up already... we all know how much u hate fkn microsoft and that ur not fkn g2 spend a fkn penny for it. we all got that clear so stop fkn posting comments on x360 sections... u fkn comment in every single one, and it getting fkn annoying. u damm sony fanboy.
You do know that windows are Microsoft's right ? Unless you're using a mac. Well if you're using a pc then throw it away because it has MS stuff on it!
I agree with sa2b2001 but this kid just won't ever stop. Just IP ban this kid mods!
First thing that came to my mind when PS3 went to $300 was 360 Elite would hit $250 soon. Guess I'm not the only one who thinks so. Sony will catch up at an even price for comparable SKUs, PS still has tons of brand power with all those people who have been using their PS2 for the past 9 years, and they'll take a PlayStation console before an Xbox at the same price.
I actually found a 360 in the trash, so I did get a free one and am looking to get rid of it
what about linux and even the mac os if your pc has the right hardware.
maybe he posts from a ps3 or psp or phone...
Someone was smart, they threw it away, did it work? You might be able to sell it to some retard if it works.
when I saw the Xbox360 I thought it was going to be crap like the original Xbox so I bought a PS3 but I was wrong...they are both equal in my eyes
But the $50 price point for the Natal add on seems way to low when you consider the pricing and peripheral strategy that the 360 has had up until now. Im thinking it will be $75 minimum, maybe $100 or more.
If that sounds like too much, think about it from the developers perspective. They are saying to themselves "Look at what players have been willing to spend on rock band or guitar hero band sets, and those only do one thing. This will be used for tons of stuff, stuff we haven't even thought of yet."
Personal opinion, but I also doubt a bundle pack of Natal and a console will be available right away. Im betting 6 months to a year before they do a bundle.
