PS3 Xbox 360 Dynasty Warriors 6 from Koei - Image 1

Still wondering why recent hardware sales charts in Japan had the PS3 beating the Wii? Well, if some of you would check the software charts for the same week, the highest ranking PS3 title there would be Shin Sangoku Musou 5 landing in second place with 188,456 units sold. Though some would argue, you could still say that the game could have driven up console sales as well.

Lucky for us, we'll be able to experience what Japan's been raving about pretty soon. Koei's just announced that the US version for Shin Sangoku Musou 5, Dynasty Warriors 6, will be shipping to North America come February 19 of next year, simultaneously for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

The press release shares thoughts from Koei senior VP Amos Ip, in that Dynasty Warriors 6 is promising to be one superb title befitting the franchise:

Dynasty Warriors 6 will deliver the massive scale battles that gamers have come to expect from the series, and will push the envelope of Tactical Action. Our goal is to redefine the Dynasty Warriors series. WeÂ’ve created more immersive environments where players can use the features of the battlefield to their advantage, larger armies with a presence and strategy befitting their superior numbers, and re-imagined characters with the most authentic kung-fu showcased in a way only KOEI can deliver. This is truly the next great chapter in the Dynasty Warriors saga.

# yes... but consider this though...Guest 2007-11-19 10:45
part of translation is usually localization. that takes some time too. because if you want a game to be good, you don't literally translate the text word-for-word. you also have to think about textual references and "reading between the line" translations. ;-)
