Duke Nukem 3D headed to XBLA? - Image 1Rumor has it that the original Duke Nukem 3D is going  to be released on the Xbox Live Arcade.

According to IGN's sources, the game should be out within the next few months. The same sources have given word that the game will have both four player online cooperative and eight player deathmatch modes.

Much to our (and the countless other Duke Nukem fans out there) delight, this rumor might actually be true.

In a previous article, we mentioned that 3D Realms head George Broussard was just waiting for the go-ahead signal from Microsoft to port this game for the XBLA. Could it be that Microsoft has already given their permission?

That said, there's really not much we can do but wait. If Duke Nukem 3D does get released on the XBLA, then we're definitely going to be planting our share of laser trip mines and pipe bombs to celebrate.

...

This game _must_ come out. It was such a great game for it's time and multiplayer was always fun. It's just a shame that "next couple of months" in XBLA terms could be "over a year".

We can always hope

I agree with you that it was a great game for its time and that it would be great to see this game on the XBLA. With regards to its release, we can always hope that it will be arriving sooner than anyone expects right? :D
