Doug Lombardi: Valve open to discussions on Left 4 Dead PS3 port - Image 1

If you guys got disappointed or upset on Valve's announcement that it won't be porting its game, Left 4 Dead(Xbox 360, PC), for Sony's PlayStation 3 console, we'll here's some good news that may make your day.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Doug Lombardi sat down for a short interview regarding his thoughts on the current issue of the game not being ported over to the PS3. When he was asked about the development of it, Lombardi replied that it's still "up in the air," because it hasn't even reached development yet.

Now, if the game was to be developed, it would be handled by a third party since Valve focuses on the PC and just got its Xbox 360 team together. It would really boil down to the fact which system people preferred playing it on.

Lombardi added that, "If folks want to do a PS3 version, we're open to talk with third parties about that." This is certainly an interesting turn of events regarding their company's stand earlier on the game.

As always, we'll keep you guys posted on more updates!

I like how I reported a massive section of Valve-related news, but it doesn't get featured, then people can just submit the biggest, most ridiculous rumors, and they get featured as long as they have a link to the news. I guess if I gave you guys a link to a gaming-related porno site, you'd feature that too?

port it to ps3. valve is cool and all but when it comes to ps3 development, they're *****s. just because the 2 guys that started valve used to work for microsoft doesn't mean that they can be *****s towards sony.. show the ps3 some love. and stop complaining that its hard to code for, because if its so hard, then why are other developers getting it? it just means that if they can code for it, they accomplished something. this time don't tell EA or someone else to port it, port it yourselves. dont be lazy bastards just port it. you guys can do a 360 port of a pc game, but you cant do a ps3 port? if you have to, develop it for ps3 first then port it to 360. thats proven to work with great results on both consoles (burnout paradise anyone?)

» Don't care.

Do not want. Valve is garbage and Left 4 Dead will suck just as much anyways. I remember seeing the videos of it before and I just laughed at them actually trying to make something like this into a game. I thought it would be based off a movie by how horrible it looked. Of course, I expect to get tons of frowny faces from the half-life fanboys and whatever other *****ty game Valve has put out over the years.

» To be honest..

..after i saw some gameplay of Left 4 Dead on 360, it looks like *****. All it is, is just Counter-Strike with zombies. If i wanted that, i'd just buy Counter-Strike Source and use the Zombie Mod!

» not really

Hey SONY if there are still common sense left, dont let this game just pass away without a battle, time to stretch yer tentacles.

Left 4 Dead will be a great MMO game and passing the opportunity to port this game to ps3 is like not accepting an all expense paid trip for 2 to the most luxurious beach on the world.

anyways i being Sony fan still thinks Sony (2006 to present) is Very Very DUMB!

restricting Go!Messenger to EUR only skype only for PSP Slim, stupid PS3 SKU's, Slow-Not User friendly PSN GUI, no direct PSN on PSP yet, PSN game numbers are still few and oh mortal kombat 2 wtf, how about adapting/buying MAME or similar technology and of course licensing the games, not few almost all of em.

SONY is missing on tons of cash and popularity and its all because of SONY's OWN FAULT.

FIX YOURSELF and your arrogant region CEO's rivalring each other.
