Doing a 360: Virtua Fighter 5 now an "ex"-exclusive |

And guess who retracted yet another Sony-exclusive deal? Sega. While a bunch of PS3 owners might be punching the air with excitement over getting an early Virtua Fighter 5 release on February (and on March as a launch title in Europe), the said title isn't exclusive any more. An ex-exclusive, if you will.
Sega just announced that their arcade fighter will now also have a 360 version that's to come out during late summer of next year in North America and Europe. Corporate VP of global marketing Jeff Bell says:
It's a franchise that has grown an army of loyal fans both in arcades and on consoles worldwide, and is consistently rated extremely high by the media. Fighting game fans have been hungry for Virtua Fighter 5 and we can now proudly deliver this game with SEGA to Xbox 360 gamers around the world.
Now that VF5 does a 360 (or a 180 degree turn depending on how you look at it), this makes the nth - sorry, we've lost count - "former exclusive" title that has escaped Sony's grasp.

The game is rubbish!! but nice to see the 360 getting its derserved recognition from developer(s).
poor sony fans , i gotta admit i was always a little gutted that VF5 was comming to PS3 exclusivly , meh im ot suprised at all that sega has done this it actualy makes sence for the developer to make money across the platforms.
Sony still has tekken ....for now who knows maybe that will 360 sometime too.
I realy think that sonys PS3 is going to take a dive after the fanboys stop buying them, Sony has alot riding on the blueray and if ps3 fails i think they will have to merge with another company to continue in the console market.
ME PSP IS CATCHING SOOO MUCH DUST ITS HARD TO FIND.....not that im looking for it.
if you can't beat them, join them and make some money...
GOW sold over 2 million copies and climbing... that also helped boost the 360 sales... it also means alot of 360's are in peoples living room... that equates to more money and option for devs and publishers... ps3 less consoles = less money for devs...
id rather c a Soul Calibur 4 or something on next gen cause earlier predessors looked pretty good
sony is losing exclusives left and right they better get some soon or they're not going to be able to push consoles out the door i mean who is gonna buy a ps3 when they have a 360 and can get the same games! makes me proud i'm getting a 360 for christmas tho i see ps3 going under within 2 years unless it bags an exclusive that does what GoW did for the 360

the one for ps3 sigma is a remake of the xbox original with better graphics...the one on xbox already look pretty good 2 me.

VF is my favorite fighting series of all time because it takes skill to learn each and every character unlike familiar move sets in crap games like doa and tekken. If anyone hates this game it's not because it sucks it's because you suck... anyway, I admit I was jealous that it was exclusive to ps3 but im glad I get my chance at it!!! yay!
All I can say is happy gaming. Everyones happy now with VF5 coming out to ps3 and 360. Personaly I enjoy DOA or Soul Calibur way over VF but it's all an opinion

the ps3 post of virtua fighter 5 was dead....nobody even cared about the game....its not exclusive and now its popular.
this stinks. Not in a fanboi way, but in a console way. Because of this exclusive "pulled" off of the PS3, it means there is even less insentive to develop soely for the PS3 platform. *sigh* but in all fairness, the game is set. Which system will it sell best for? I think that will be the key to future fighting exclusives.
and how many is that now? GTA4, RE5, Assassin Creed, and virtua Fighter 5? christ Sony, pull your head out of yer ass.
Poor interest is probably one of the main reasons it's coming to the 360, more sales, more profit. I don't really expect this game to make a killa profit on the PS3, they need the 360's help. Any PS3 title released within the next year is going to be very tempted to port it to the 360 because sony's install base isn't going to generate a lot of profit on software titles. The cost of the console is probably going to leave the software attach rate quite low. It's also going to be really hard for PS3 exclusives to make a profit considering the cost of development has sky rocketed with the introduction of the cell processor.
This is definitely a kick in the guys for sony, but at least they get a six month head start on the title, that makes it a semi-exclusive title.
Sony wont be able to lure the 360 owners to a PS3 this year, but they need to start releasing some killer apps to grab the attention of those holding on tightly to those last generation machines.

GTA4 was announced at E3 by Microsoft as an Exclusive. Rockstar Games had to announce that is was not a Xbox Exclusive that it was comming to both platforms.

MS announced that GTA4 is coming the same day as the PS3, with exclusive content for Xbox Live.

Though im glad that 360 owners will not miss out on this title, I have to admit...it was expected anyway! Sega have been going backwards and forwards on VF5 for a while now, PS-exclusive, not PS-exclusive.

Damn, I guess 9 million 360's -do- matter. Now that Blue Dragon is pumping 360 sales in Japan, big companies can see the 360 as a viable option for profit. Capcom and Tecmo knew it all along. Good job Sega!! Kudos to you for not falling into "Sony Only" propaganda. I think we need to make a list of games that were exclusive and are now going to be on 360. Damn that's gonna get big...
