Dig Dug

Anybody looking for another quick retro fix over Xbox Live Arcade is in luck. Tomorrow, Namco's Dig Dug should be available on the Marketplace, as the official Xbox web page has posted the release date as 9/20/06. The game originally came out to arcades in 1982 and looks to have everybody inflating underground-dwelling monsters until they pop all over again. The main character of the game, Taizo Hori, has appeared in a few other games such as Mr. Driller. No specific price was released, but since it is one of the classic games hitting the Arcade, hopefully it will be the usual 400 Microsoft Points, but we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.

» Dig dug is one of the stupidest arcade games there is

How about a more modern arcade classic? One that is perhaps entertaining? 1987-1994 is when arcade games were at their peak. Double Dragon, Final Fight, X Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Golden Axe, Mortal Kombat, etc. Those games were fun, not stupid.

Hellz yeah, Dig-Dug is one of the old classics. Can't wait to get a hold of it. Definetly a great addition to the XBLA.

How's that? I've yet to see one announcement come from Microsoft, the Live Arcade Team or Namco regarding this being released.
