Deja vu: Fallout 3 leaked, thousands downloading via torrent - Image 1Well this sounds familiar. Not a week after the game went gold, the Xbox 360 version of Fallout 3 has been leaked and made available for illegal download on torrent sites, three weeks before the game's release.

Grand Theft Auto IV also suffered the same with its Xbox 360 version, which was leaked a week before its release in the market.

Piracy sites indicated that the leaked version of Fallout 3 has already been downloaded by thousands of users. Now I'm sure it's not much of a warning, especially if you already had your console modded, but remember, you're only hurting the industry if you decide to hunt down that torrent for yourself.

And besides, you won't get the exclusive DLC if you do.

» Seriously

Only the most hardcore gamers should buy that extra dlc. The game is like 100 hours long! Do you really think your gonna even get to that extra dlc

Umm.. Why? Does fallout need a code included with the disc, or is it just regular off the marketplace DLC. Hacked boxes can still go online and download you know.

» Yeah what?

Hacked Xbox's can play all the DLC they want...

» Not the retail game....Hypocrites!

What I find to be hilarious is that when "The Darkness" was leaked, I told qj.net about it and got a warning from a mod telling me, "we don't post news about leaked games! Don't tell us again!"

B.S. You guys are just like every other new site. You don't want to give credit, but you want to receive it.

That said, The actual retail game hasn't been leaked but instead, a review copy. Through other sources, I've learned the review copy freezes, has hundreds of bugs, and isn't fully complete. Sure, there's going to be people posting on here about how it is, but from people on other sites it's been confirmed a review copy. Everyone who's gone online has been banned and once people get past the 5 hour mark, the game freezes constantly. Only idiots who don't want the full experience would download this game. Support Bethesda, buy this game. Bethesda rocks! Don't believe me, download it for yourselves, waste a disk, and take money away from one of the best game companies in the world......

» There is no excuse.....

The fact is, you downloaded something that you had no legal right to download. Sure, you just wanted to try the game.

However, you still went about it in an illegal way. If you wanted to try it, you could rent it, go to an in-store setup/display, or borrow it from a friend. Downloading it and deleting it after is NOT legally the same as borrowing the disc from someone.

Also, it doesn't matter if you had "no intent to buy it, so they're not losing any money". You acquired the game through a non-legal method, hence you broke the law.

Even though the product is not in a physical format, its still their intellectual property, and they have the right to tell people what they can or can't do with it.

» "Review Copy" Is quite possible

Ive noticed some unusual chop or lag but that might have been from running the 360 for like 16 hours straight

For the most part the game was publicly downloadable from about the 8th onward.

It seems retardedly early for a game to be leaked though, so it being a review copy would make sense, but the game doesn't freeze up, I can assure you of that.

Runs like a charm and I'll definitely pick it up once its released.
