Dead Rising Escapes British Censors' Scissors |

Looks like the evil, flesh-eating undead is having better luck in the UK than in Germany and Japan. Despite protests, the British Board of Film Classification said it will allow Dead Rising for Xbox 360 to go on sale in the UK uncensored. However, it did get an 18 and above only rating. According to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), despite Dead Rising's blood and gore, the game contains no close-ups and depictions of sexually motivated violence - things the Board considers harmful. "Dead Rising is considered a fairly straightforward 18...we have no reason to intervene as far as adults are considered. The game is gory, but... the violence is not sadistic and it's focused against zombies." Besides, the agency said "There is no clear evidence that playing games leads to copycat behaviour." What do you say to that Mr. Thompson?
Germany has already buried Dead Rising for good before it could even rise from the grave. Japan reportedly released a sanitized version of the game. Dead Rising, already out in North America, is schedule to sow terror on the European continent next month. Except Germany, of course.
